As of late August, the trams bring you down to an sandy area above the waterline, with stairs & steps into the lake at either end of the sandy area Tram Access: Electric trams are available along the bluff to traverse the 90 foot bluff. The trams are maintained by the neighborhood association, and Shores cannot guarantee that trams will be fully functional every day of your stay. The association may need to close the trams to address repairs, routine maintenance or recharging the batteries that provide the power to move the platforms. The house was clean and inviting. We ran into a slight hiccup at arrival as our code want working, but were able to get it resolved quickly. We loved the neighborhood and private access to the lake. This rental looked exactly like the photos, no surprises. It was very clean, comfortable beds, no problems entering or following directions for cell phones, TV, air conditioning, etc. We are Seniors and Lake Michigan Beach was very accessible using the electric tram. The only problem was parking near the tram which is walkable if not a Senior and dog friendly! Rental was family friendly. The best for us was the ability relax in the well equipped rental and accessing the private beach without having to walk a long distance to watch the beautiful sunsets from the beach and spend time on the sands of Lake Michigan. We would meet our family at one of the great restaurants in South Haven. Very dog friendly owners! Management was very easy to contact and very quick to respond. The only two things I’d add for people to know is that the private beach is small and very rocky and not good for swimming/playing in the water, and that you only have access via the tram so don’t forget to bring your key (you can’t take the stairs down). The patio, which we were looking forward to using, was dirty and covered in spider webs and bugs, making it essentially unusable. The hot tub also wasn’t clean, and all the outdoor furniture was dusty and covered in debris. It was clear the area hadn’t been cleaned or maintained before our arrival.Indoors, while the layout of the home was nice, there were cleanliness issues as well—crumbs on the kitchen floor and hair left in the bathrooms, which made it feel like the place hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned between guests.The front landscaping was also unkempt, with weeds taking over the yard, which stood out even more because the neighboring properties in the development had well-maintained yards and inviting fire pits.With a bit more attention to cleaning and maintenance, this could be a really great rental.
