Wonderful winter weekend in Chatham!
We absolutely loved our stay at John's place! The home looks exactly like the pictures and it was pristine when we arrived. The check-in process was incredibly smooth and John was extremely accommodating for us to check in both early and depart late. His welcome guide for the home came in handy multiple times - especially his recommendation for linen rentals (we would also highly recommend Cape Cod Linen Rentals - David was fantastic!). The home had all of the amenities we needed and it was a great place for two families with small children to stay. It's very close to a number of beaches, which were great for some winter walks, and not too far from Chatham's downtown. We also loved that we were able to bring our dog for the weekend. We truly had zero complaints or concerns about our stay - one of the most pleasant home rental experiences our group has had. We will definitely be back!

Lovely home, lovely stay
House is in a quiet, pretty neighborhood which is great for walking. Forest Beach nearby—- and a great overlook also in ways walking distance where we had a great view of an active osprey nest.

I had given you 5 stars in all the categories and there seemed to have been a glitch in the VRBO system and only 4 stars appeared in a single category. I've contacted VRBO twice to explain the issue and both times they refused to fix the problem. The only suggestion they had was to remove the 4 stars all together. This really bothered my because you are such a great considerate person. Please know that you deserve a full 5 star rating and I will continue to reach out to VRBO. Their system has had several glitches in the past few months and this seems to be that latest. All the best... John

Attended wedding with friends
The property is in a very nice neighborhood - a quiet and private area. Walkable to the beach. It was in excellent condition and clean. The recent remodeling/updating is fantastic. Bike supply was terrific and we biked to the beach and the local rail to trail. Landlord was very communicative, generous and helpful. I highly recommend this home.

Great Spot for Family Vacation!
We had a fantastic family vacation with grandparents, our 2-year old child, and our mini goldendoodle! The house is in a beautiful neighborhood in South Chatham - quiet, private, and a short 0.6 mile walk (or drive) to the beach. The beach is long and great for walking on and for finding sea shells. Chatham downtown (restaurants, shops, etc) is only about a 10-12 minute drive. The house itself is very clean and in great condition and many of the spaces appear to be newly updated. This is a perfect family space with multiple sitting rooms and communal areas. The kitchen was fully stocked, and the beds were comfortable. John (the owner) is really on top of everything, and made sure we had everything we needed! There are also lots of bikes available in the garage. We would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Lovely little home
This cute little house was perfect for our first family vacation on Cape Cod. The location was perfect and the house came equipped with everything we needed. John went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

A lovely and well-maintained house on the Cape
We had a lovely stay at this house in Chatham. The location is great the neighborhood is lovely and a close walk to the beach. The house is beautifully maintained and equipped with a lot of high-end features that made the stay truly enjoyable. I cannot recommend it enough.

Beautiful and Comfortable Home Away from Home
My husband and I spent a week enjoying the Cape and relaxing at this cozy home. The house was as beautiful as the pictures and you could tell the care and thought that went into the renovation. The kitchen was well equipped with everything and the bedroom was amazingly quiet and comfortable-- the best I have slept in a long time! John, the owner was very communicative and great to deal with. Thanks for making our vacation a real treat. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

I loved the Cape Escape! My friends and I thought the home was even more beautiful than the photographs - sunny interior with room to spend time together and little nooks for "me time" also. Beds were very comfortable and the home was spotless. My only regret is that I am not there now. Location is perfect in a quiet neighborhood and easy driving distance to beach or main street. The beach is also an easy bike ride away and very private. John and Ruth are terrific hosts. I would go back in a heartbeat. If you have kids, definitely check out the natural history museum - it's only 7 miles away and worth the trip.

Felt right at home!
This home has an amazing balance of elegance and that welcoming "homie" feeling to it. Its a great size for two couples and kids. Location was great since you can get to a few different parts of the Cape fairly easily. Biking to the beach was a highlight of the trip. The patio was the perfect spot to wind down at night. John was an amazing host who made sure we had everything we needed before and during the trip. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wonderful 'Cape Escape'
We had a fabulous 2 week stay at 'Cape Escape'. This is the perfect home for a family vacation. The home is spotless with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Great owner!
John, the owner, was excellent about communicating with us in a timely fashion and doing whatever he could to improve our visit. We had people ages 5-50 staying in the home. Even though we were rained out the entire weekend and could not enjoy most of the outdoor amenities he had available (i.e. grill, back porch, beach equipment), our entire group enjoyed the leisurely 4 minute bike ride to the private beach. There were so many bikes provided, including a bicycle built for 2, with which we had fun. The home is in a very quiet cul-de-sac so there were no cars zooming by. We felt comfortable with our kids playing outside. Our only suggestion would be to provide linens and incidentals (shampoo, bath soap, replacement paper towels, etc). For short term vacation rentals where one is hoping to pack lightly, sheets and towels for 10 people and incidentals took up 2 suitcases worth of room for us. It was extremely difficult to place sheets on the highest of the bunk beds which was much higher than a standard top bunk. However our boys enjoyed this bunk bed room and it was great for the kids.

We had an amazing stay in Chatham, MA.
The weather was beautiful, we could easily walk to the beach or ride one of the many provided bikes (which was great!!). The house was clean, the rooms were nice and big. Lots of room to sit quietly and read or play games with the family. John was great to work with. Overall a very relaxing vacation.

Wonderful spring vacation on the Cape!
Our party of 6 (3 adults, 3 children ages 8, 8, and 12) and our pup had a fantastic time at Cape Escape for our April school vacation week! The house was perfectly sized for our group, with a wonderful deck for reading in the sun. The house was spotlessly clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, and the dining table served as a perfect spot for puzzles and card games. Kids LOVED the bunk room! The neighborhood was quiet and Forest Beach was just a short walk away. The tennis courts/playground near Judy’s Lane were also a big hit, as were the bikes in the garage. Downtown Chatham was only ten minutes’ drive from the house and we enjoyed a few short trips to the charming shops. All in all, a relaxing, fun, and perfect break from life!

A perfect getaway
What a perfect cape escape! From the beginning to the end the owners were extremely communicative and accommodating. The house has a great lay out with plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked with every appliance we could have needed. The only improvement suggestion is to provide linens. Great home, where we had a very enjoyable stay. I highly recommend.

Great Stay!
I booked this property over the Thanksgiving holiday and it was wonderful! John, the owner, was wonderful to work with and was able to offer flexibility with an earlier check-in and later check-out. The house interior is tastefully decorated and well-cared for, and the use of bikes on property was great, and the beach is just a short walk and we enjoyed watching the evening sunset. I highly recommend renting the property And hope to book again this summer.

Perfect Property
My wife, two teenage kids and I spent a long Columbus Day weekend at this wonderful property. The location was great. It was a short drive to downtown Chatham, and a number of other nice cape towns. It was a short walk, or really short bike ride down to beautiful and walkable Forest Beach. The house feels like home the moment you walk in the door. Arriving at the property was super easy. The house is immaculately clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. John was an excellent host, and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Next time we're in the Chatham area, I won't have to bother looking for another property to stay in, because this one was perfect for me and my family...Thanks John!

Everything you need
Our family had a lovely week staying in Chatham. Hospitality was quite spectacular- from the time we booked our reservation through the end of our stay. The host checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and communicated clearly about house rules and how to use appliances. The house was beautiful, located on a quiet street about a 10 minute walk from the beach, 3/4 of a mile from a bike and running path, and in close proximity to many other beaches and places to visit on the Cape. The beach chairs, toys, and bikes available to us were perfect. It was a great vacation.

Perfect vacation rental to relax
We so enjoyed our stay at Cape Escape. The house offers all the comfort you need away from home. The location of the property is at close proximity to many threat hiking places. My family (including kids) enjoyed our stay at Chatham escape. The house has everything you need and more. Great location, close to the pond and beach. I highly recommend this place, John -the property manager - was reachable at all time for questions about the area or places to go. We are very grateful he let us bring our two dogs. Cape Escape outside of Chatham
The home was perfectly sized and laid out for a family of 5 (including 8, 12, and 14 year olds). We greatly appreciated the incredibly well-stocked kitchen, the abundance of bikes and boogie boards, and quiet cul-de-sac. We also greatly appreciated the opportunity to bring our little dog. The home is within walking distance of a tennis court, bike trails, and beach. While the beach was too calm for our kids, it might be great for a family with little ones. If I could change, it would be the outdoor shower which is open. Therefore, we enjoyed the master bedroom shower which has a cool beach motif including the floor. The owner was excellent at communicating throughout.

Cape Cod Retreat
We had a wonderful stay at John & Ruby's home in August, 2019. It's a peaceful respite at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac away from the hectic summer Cape crowds, beautifully maintained yet convenient both to drive to Chatham, or to walk to the spotless local beach, less than a half mile walk away. John was there to greet us and show us the home, and was available by phone literally 24/7 to quickly respond to all our needs. We especially loved both the gorgeous master bath shower and the outdoor shower, which is totally open, yet not observable from neighbors as the house is surrounded by trees Our kids came from NYC w/partners for one weekend and the house was fine with all six of us there, and our little dog enjoyed chasing rabbits in the yard, and daily walks thru the woods and around the neighborhood. All in all, everyone had a goood time.

Great family getaway!
John was very helpful throughout our stay. The house was perfect for our family of 3 kids- bikes were amazing and cul de sac/neighborhood tennis court for playing! We loved everything about Chatham and the area close to both forest beach and the cape cod bike trail. We spent two weeks and weren’t bored for a minute. Thank you!!

Cute Clean Chatham House On Quiet Street!
John’ family house was perfect for a birthday getaway long weeeked, this mostly modernized house was just the right amount of quiet but close to town, and at most a 10 min walk to a great local beach. House was well stocked and John was one of the more attentive and proactive owners I have had the pleasure of renting from having used HomeAway a bunch in the past. We will definitely consider this property again if we stay in this part of the cape👍

Incredible home! Beautifully maintained!
We loved our stay at “Cape Escape”! We have been vacationing at a family home in East Harwich since 2013 and are familiar with the area. This year we celebrated our wedding with 18 family members and needed a 2nd home. We could not have made a better choice! The location, home and all of the amenities were everything we had hoped for. This property is nicely decorated with such great attention to detail, quiet, and private. Immaculately clean and organized. Great location! The chef-like kitchen was amazing! Huge stove/oven, highend cutlery, and all that is needed to cook and bake. Two complete sets of dishes are provided. Great wood floors. So new. So clean. Beautiful house in great location!!!
First thing John and Ruby are great hosts. John gave his time on the phone for great recommendations around Cape Cod. They were always quick in returning phone calls or texts. The house was as advertised. Beautiful and most importantly clean. Also has everything you need. Kitchen had everything you need to cook. Bikes and beach chairs in garage. Relax on the backyard deck. Tv and wifi Location was great. 10 minute walk to beach. Also free parking if you decide to drive. Only 10 minute ride to downtown Chatham or Harwich. 20 minute ride to Hyannis. Would stay here again

Great Escape!
We loved our stay and our vacation was one to remember! The home was great. It was very clean, well kept and comfortable. It was conveniently located and we were on the go every day. We traveled up and down the coast, spent a day at Martha's Vineyard, another day at Nantucket, went whale watching and saw may other sites. Everyday was something different and beautiful views everywhere we went. I definitely would love to visit again in the future! John was great to deal with and is very friendly. A Slice of Heaven.........
From the moment you pull into the driveway, you will not be disappointed. This home is perfect in every way......location is close to main routes , attractions, great dining and all the beautiful beaches Cape Cod has to offer. John and Ruby offer thoughtfulness throughout the house. Impeccably decorated with that casual comfortable feel of home. We came to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy some quality family time while celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and our granddaughter's 5th birthday. Fabulous Family Vacation in Chatham
Our vacation in Chatham was awesome from beginning to end. Our check in time was 5 o'clock, but John emailed me around 2 to say that the house was cleaned and ready to move in. We were all very excited to be able to unpack and start relaxing on the Cape. The house was very comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching television in the family which was very spacious for the 6 of us.( 4 adults and 2 children). The beds were comforable and the kids enjoyed the bunk beds which were a novelty for them. It was especially nice to have air conditioning since it was quite hot while we were there. Going to the beach( and we tried several) was easy since there were 6 beach chairs, beach towels and even pails and shovels for the kids. There were also many bikes to choose and a favorite activity was biking to Forest beach later in the day. My granddaughter easpecially like the bicycle built for 2 and she would ride in back with her dad. There were also helmets provided. We didn't utilize them, but there were also boogie boards and large tubes for swimming. The kitchen was well equipped and supplied with all the necessities. The washer and dryer worked well and was very convenient to use. One floor living was very easy! The only criticism I have is the shower head in the master bathroom was hard to position. All in all, everything was wonderful and we thank John and Ruby for letting us relax in their home. John also was very quick with e-mail responses. Thanks for everything, John and Ruby

Very comfortable - great location
The house was great. Very comfortable and with everything you'd need. Super clean and the decor was a nice bonus. Location was also very convenient and we loved how quiet the street was. Highly recommend.

Great house
This is a pristine house in a nice location., walking distance to forest beach in south Chatham. The house has it all for you to feel like at home, from well equipped kitchen to entertainment for rainy days .the tenant made available tomus beach accessories , bkes ,....

All of what we were anticipating and more! Wonderful!
The house was exquisite; clean, in excellent repair, roomy and a very relaxing atmosphere. The setting of the home on the cup-de-sac made for a very peaceful and quiet location. The owner, John Muldoon, was also very responsive and a gracious host. A highlight was the proximity of the beach. With beach paraphernalia and children we drove each day (2 cars) and never had a problem parking. It was as if we had our own private beach to enjoy. Two weeks wasn't enough. It was very hard to leave. I highly recommend this home. It absolutely deserves Five Stars!!!

Great Cape Escape
Amazing stay at this house. Has everything, nicely decorated and great location. You can't pick a better place to stay in Chatham. Easy for day trips and many fine places to eat nearby. We really enjoyed our stay with five adults and three children.

Amazing beach house in the perfect Cape Cod city
Perfect stay. We were my dad and my brother, both with their wifes, my brother's son and me. We had the perfect 4 days in Chatham, the rest of Cape Cod and Newport. The house is absolutely beautiful, everything new and in a great location.
