Its a very basic room with old 70's carpet that should be ripped up. The comforters each had a tear in them. It was clean with enough towels and extra pillows. The one bed had a big sag in the middle. New mattresses would help.

Always clean and welcoming. Rooms are well equipped. I have been staying every year for 5 years on my way to Tobermory and ferry. Good restaurant too!

I didn't mind that it was old fashioned, but the smell was musty and at no time did the WiFi work in our room, although free WiFi was advertised.

Booked on expedia and indicated that breakfast was included and it was not. Wifi was VERY weak and super slow. Wall are very thin, could hear tv and conversations from the next room. TV channels were low quality - no HD channels.

The motel rooms are definitely dated. Overall the room was clean and served it’s purpose.We did not eat at the restaurant, so I can’t comment on it. I had booked a room with 2 beds as we had 4 adults. When we arrived, our room only had 1 bed.After a trip back to the office, we were given a room with 2 beds. Had we been a bit later checking in, the results may have been different. For the condition of this motel, the daily rate ($127.40) per night was a little steep!

-it says they have wifi but it’s not reachable to rooms -tv fuzzy so you can’t watch tv -sink broken -shower barley works (only can take bath or terrible shower) -way too expensive for what it is -no conditioner It’s fine if you have no money and are okay with a terrible place to sleep

Very clean but needs updating. Nice patio at the back of the room. Didn't care for a window in the entrance door. It had a mini blind over it and the blind fell off when trying to close it.Had to put a towel in the door to cover the window.

Pleasantly surprised
Extremely clean, excellent service. It's a family owned motel and the owner is very friendly. She went out of her way to xater to our needs during very late hours. The breakfast was hearty, delicious and economic. Will definitely come back.

The location is great for travel to the Bruce Pensinsula. Wiarton is a lovely town with a great waterfront park and pet friendly restaurants. On-site restaurant is very handy. Good value for the price - would stay again

1. no clothing hangers 2. no bathtub plug 3. no coffee stir sticks 4. no real sugar packets 5. no coffee creamers 6. only one teabag 7. no decaff 8. TV cable reception may have been bunny ears from the 60's. Awful! 9. Wi-fi too weak and turned off every 5 minutes 10.after 4 hrs with heat on full we are wearing outdoor clothing to stay warm despite heat on max 11.spare pillows had long strands of hair on them, only one extra blanket 12.no towel racks STAY AWAY!

Room was huge and clean, excellent friendly service. Furnishings are not modern as the road sign says, but not an issue at all just made me giggle. Only bummer was internet signal didnt reach all the way to our room (12). Otherwise great stay for somewhere to catch up on some sleep.

Basic motel seemed overpriced for what was offered
It was a accumulation of things that was somewhat frustrating. The most important for us being that the wifi did not work in the room. Had to go outside to get a signal and stand in parking area for it to be strong enough to download or send emails. The cable?? TV was fuzzy. While we enjoyed being able to open the patio door ( over looking green space) to have fresh air rather than a noisy a/c , it did not lock Would have appreciated have decaf coffee available . An oversight not likely , however, to be repeated was that the coffee maker and garbage had not been taken out during the cleaning from previous guest. .

Friendly staff. Reasonable rate. Outdated room.
Our room was very old (both the decor and bedding) but clean. I don't mind outdated so long as I feel the room is clean. There was a definite musty smell. My guess it comes from it being a seasonal hotel only and the rooms are shut tight for many months. The biggest disappointment was no wifi, though advertised as having it. The owners were very friendly.

Great location, a little dated but did the trick!
First off, this was advertised as a 2 star which I’d say is fair. The motel is dated and it’s fair to say they could do with some updating and repairs. But for the price in relation to the area we were happy with our stay. The staff that we dealt with were all friendly and accommodating.

It is a no-thrills motel with outdated furniture. It seemed clean enough, and was perfect for our one-night stay on route to Tobermory. The staff were SUPEr friendly and made the stay enjoyable.

While on our travels we were looking forward to a chance to catch up on our internet life. Didn't happen. There was some signal in the restaurant but not in our room. Due to weather, apparently. The room was very pleasant and comfy in a retro way.

Nice Motel with Friendly Staff
Nice stop on our way to the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry to Manitoulin. We drove to Sauble Beach and enjoyed shopping, mini-golf and beach. Wiarton has a 24 hour grocery store

Good choice for a weekend trip to Bruce peninsula
Motel is simple and clean - super friendly staff, good location, spacious rooms. Only wish is for better AC system - quite outdated and noisy wall AC doesn't prompt to keep it running. Overall - satisfied and would stay again if in the area. WiFi is another area which needs improvement - no reception in the room.

The room was more spacious than I expected. The owners were very nice and hard-working people. The wifi in the room was not good but you're welcomed to use free wifi nearby their restaurant, which was just the next door. We love the food in their restaurant. We ate several times there. Highly recommend the brunch on the weekend.

Pre-inspect the room
The immediate thought was how nicely we were greeted on checking in. The room, however, left things to be desired. It was vacuumed and beds were made. There was a certain musty smell to the room that may have been left over from a long winter sleep or so we thought. There was a used hand towel hanging behind the bathroom door as well as the battery missing in the smoke detector. The biggest problem didn't arise until morning. The coffee pot in the room hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests and had about half a cup of coffee covered in mould left in it. Perhaps the source of the mustiness. On a good note, the bed was comfortable but best of all, the food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The staff/owners seemed genuinely eager to please and with a little attention to detail when preparing rooms, this could be a great place to stay. I would recommend this place but only with a pre-inspection of the room.

I have some "reservations"
When I arrived, I was told they had forgotten to turn on the heat (The outside temperature was 6C). They did supply me with a space heater to hurry the heating and it was comfortable within about 20 minutes. I stayed for two days and expected that the room would be serviced for the second day but it was clear that no-one had been in - bed not made, towels not changed, no toilet paper. It was not possible to charge meals in the restaurant to the room. Hook on back of bathroom door was missing. The bed was comfortable and the facilities generally good.

Definitely not the great
The only reason we chose this one was because all the other ones were taken, and we wanted to go to Flowerpot Island the next day. This motel is the worst possible place to stay. The staff are nice, but there are more cons than pros. First of all, they say there is wifi, and there is, but only if you stay in units 2 or 3. Go past that, and the wifi doesn't even exist. The room itself is kind of clean, but everything is too old. The most horrible part of the motel is the shower. The water coming from the shower head is all bunched together, so when it hits you, it hurts a lot. It is very hard to rinse anything off your body because of the water quality. Once you go in the shower and turn on the water, you CANNOT touch the water anymore, so you have to get the water right the first time, or else when you are in the shower, the water will be unstable. One minute it will be freezing cold, and the next minute it will be burning hot. All these things will happen if you just change the temperature a teeny bit. At night, it is pitch black. So dark you can't even see your fingers. If you need to use the bathroom in the middle if the night, good luck getting there without tripping or falling. It would be very smart to bring a night light or something. So this place is not comparable to a hotel, but if you had a choice, don't choose this one. I know motels are just supposed to be a place to spend the night, but this is truly a not that great place.
