A fantastic find in the heart of the dales. The hotel and pub were fantastic value for money, staff were very accomodating and the meals very exceptional. A credit to all those involved. Looking forward to a return visit.
We booked the 4poster suite with fabulous roll top bath large walk in shower. Really good sized room and bathroom and would definitely recommend
Food was good but not fabulous
We had a really mixed stay and I didn’t want to write a public review but my email to the hotel with my feedback went unanswered.
Check in was difficult. They asked for payment even though we'd paid and then had no record of our dog. We paid an additional £25 for a deep clean of the room we'd been offered to avoid changing rooms between our two night stay.
No need. We never stayed for the second night. Our first night was unbearable. Yes it's warm, but this happens every year about this time and the small fan and poorly ventilated bathroom meant for an awful, stuffy night. None of us slept.
Breakfast was really poor. We waited ages in a separate room due to being with our dog. We felt left. It took over 30 mins to arrive and even then it wasnt right.
We decided to drive home to avoid the discomfort of a second night. I emailed to say as such and was told on checkout someone would be in touch about a partial refund. We haven't heard back from our feedback message. I know others also complained about how hot the rooms were and were unhappy at breakfast.
Disappointed really as bar staff were lovely and chatty and bar foodwas excellent.
Very convenient stopover when visiting the surrounding area. Bit of a shock when arriving to be told we only had a 1 night booking rather than the 2 nights booked through Hotels.com - however the hotel had a spere room to accomodate us even though it meant a room change mid stay. The staff were very helpfull
Great stay, staff very helpful and friendly. Food is excellent and very well presented, room was comfortable ( twin room at the back of the hotel ) extractor fan outside of room but this goes off at 10pm. Lovely views to the front of the hotel, set in the small village of Kilnsey. Very peasant and peaceful stay, would stay again but would probably opt for a room at the front of the hotel.
We really enjoyed our 2 day stay at the Tennant Arms. Very friendly staff, lovely setting, nice big room with separate downstairs bathroom, and very good food at dinner and breakfast.
Great hotel with a superb gastro pub serving excellent food.
Great location for many of the popular walks in the area and fishing facilities right next door.
Couldn’t fault the staff and service we received and would highly recommend this hotel.
The long days walking were made easier having this hotel to come back too.
A great location, very scenic. A tired hotel with fresh cheap paint, our room was spacious but beds were basic and pillows were flat. Window was hard to open and gave little views. Bath waste was blocked and filled with brown liquid from the wash basin.
Breakfasts are sometimes good but sometimes poor, depends on who cooked.
Either understaffed or just badly managed. We had a suite which was lovely apart from the badly cracked sink which leaked over your feet when you used it. It was marketed as a 'gastro pub', there was nothing gastro about either the evening meal or breakfast.
Everything was excellent the staff and management went above and beyond to make our stay a great one, from the breakfast to the main evening meal all perfect, Will stop again
Great location with fantastic views. Room was ok for 1 night. Nice bathroom.
Breakfast was poorly cooked although there was a large choice. Maybe that is the issue?
Great location and lovely hotel. We stayed a couple of nights and the staff was very nice. Freya who works there many hours was very helpful. I can only recommend a visit to the area.
Booked the Littondale room, amazingly confortable large bed, coffee machine, proper yorkshire tea, jacuzzi bathtub with plenty of room for 2 for the perfect romantic getaway.
Nesting housemartins on the windows were unexpected but captivating (means the windows arent clean but it was more exciting watching them come and go)
Breakfast was good in the circumstances (limited buffett for COVID measures)
Staff always helpful and couldnt do enough for you.
Couldnt have asked for anything more and was a great price compared to other "romantic stays" in the area
Brilliant stay with superb views. The room was lovely with a very country vibe. The food was very well cooked and presented, both in the restaurant and the breakfast. Would recommend.
Lovely hotel, great room with huge bathroom and fab bath. Slept really well.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast room is lovely, with great views. Lots of choice of cooked breakfasts.
Bar and food good too!
A weekend with only three things planned, eating, drinking and walking and we were not disappointed. The weather was excellent as was the hand-pulled Taylors Landlord plus a fine selection of gin. The food was of very high standard and the staff very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back but will ask for one of the larger rooms next time as ours was a little too cosy!
Super friendly checkin and even showed us to the room
Warm and inviting, a real personal first impression
Free room upgrade which is always a winner
Fantastic setting by the open fire in the bar for a few relaxing drinks then onto a wonderful evening meal
Breakfast was brilliant and nothing was too much hassle
