"This is a nice, friendly, welcoming hotel in what seems to be a pretty old house in the Yorkshire Dales. It does have a lot of steps, no lift, and the town is on the side of a hill, so visitors should be aware of that. The rooms are small, clean and comfortable. Parking is possible in the nearby town square and we were fortunate to find a space on both nights.
We ate one night in the restaurant, having made a reservation, and it was good. They allow dogs. The next night, a Sunday, they were fully booked, as were several other restaurants in the town.
Breakfast was excellent. You need to order on a card the evening before. We didn’t use the bar but it seemed lively and had music on the Sunday evening."
