Lovely little cottage in perfect location. The cottage is exactly as described and is a perfect Dales base for 2 people. We booked pretty last minute for the bank holiday week in August, so we were worried about the lack of a dedicated parking space. However, we were able to park either on the road outside or in the car park round the corner every day - so not a problem at all.
The cottage was cozy, clean and welcoming, perfect for us. Grassington is a great location, we went on walks from the door both upstream along the river looping back through Grass Wood, and downstream to Hebden and a fine sandwich in the Clarenden Hotel. In Grassington we had a great evening meal in the Black Horse and also a tasty takeaway curry from Rozis which we picked up on the way back from the Fountaine Inn in Linton, well worth a 25 minute walk.
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful village. The cottage was clean and well equipped and as the weather was beautiful the garden was well used by us. Just an outstanding place to stay.
Fantastic cottage, warm, cosy and very welcoming. Had everything that we needed. Thought parking would be a hassle but it wasn’t. Log fire was easy and kept the cottage cosy. Many beautiful walks from the front door. Grassington is amazing
This is a very cosy cottage with a loved feel owing to the owners family connection with it. The location is tucked away in the village and there is zero noise or light pollution. If you want peace, tranquillity and coziness this is the spot. Plus the log burner is an absolute beauty & the free supply of seasoned logs completes the picture!
We had a great few days staying at this lovely cottage in Grassington.
Log burner keeps it cosy and all the equipment you need to self cater is provided.
Very comfortable bed.
The cottage is very convenient for the village centre, with it's cafes, pubs and takeaways.
Many walks straight from the door.
We'd certainly like to stay here again!
Lovely … kitchen area very small but overall the property was very spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully presented.

We really enjoyed this cottage. Very quiet area (a little hard to find). This was a very cozy adorable cottage that has everything you need. WiFi was great so we could stream ‘All creatures great and small’. Adorable breakfast nook for drinking coffee while looking outside.
We very much enjoyed staying at this little cottage- well located for hiking and the village is big enough to have plenty of amenities for eating, groceries, pharmacy but still quiet. The cottage was clearly well cared for and we had plenty of space for two of us. We especially enjoyed the bright breakfast nook and had everything we needed for light cooking. Would love to return to beautiful Yorkshire!
Everything about this little cottage is perfect! It is cute, clean, comfortable and a perfect location that is close to the square but not too close if you want to be away. My trip was a first time solo trip without a car and I was able to find everything very easily and felt very safe walking around town in the evenings and on daytime trail walks. I truly loved my stay at this cottage in Grassington! Check in and communication was very easy and responsive too. Thank you for sharing your little bit of heaven.
Beautiful cosy and comfortable cottage ideally situated in the glorious setting of Grassington. Local pubs and food were great. People very friendly and welcoming. Stunning scenery and even managed to see Wharfdale play rugby on Saturday (yes they won). Would definitely come back, almost forgot an epic trip to Wensleydale to the cheese makers. Absolutely fascinating and lots of cheese purchased
I looked for a place for my husband and I to have a comfortable home base from which to explore the locations used in All Creatures Great and Small on PBS. This could not have been more perfect. It is cozy and located in easy walking distance to the quaint town square and shops. The only downside- and what I think could be something others might need to know- is that 1) the bedroom and only bathroom are upstairs with kitchen and sitting room downstairs and 2) even though the listing says there are three parking spaces near the cottage, they were always filled and we had to park a good distance away and walk to and from the car, up and down a hill. The cottage itself requires a walk, even if you are lucky enough to get one of those spaces. Anyone with any difficulty in mobility would not have an easy go of it. Luckily, we didn’t, but still, when it was unexpectedly cold, rainy, and windy, that long walk to the car was not pleasant.
That’s my only negative for this charming cottage. We had a truly magical week in Grassington, and I highly recommend it!
The ratings guide would only allow 5 stars. But we give the Hill Top Fold a 5 ++++++++++ and then some.
If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable, out of the fray lodging look no more. This the place for you. My wife have been staying in VRBOs since the inception of VRBOs. By far, this is one of if not the best we had the pleasure to stay.
Our Host, although we didn’t meet them personally, were wonderful. Very responsive to any questions. The cottage has been in the family since the mid 60s. So you don’t have to deal with an absentee owner.
Two sister who own the cottage would spend their summers there. When you have two siblings who love each other and respect each other to go into business together, it is something special. So look no further.
There isn’t anything I would change in the cottage. My favorite feature of the cottage, and this may sound odd, was the green Dutch front door. I’ve always wanted one, and our stay only intensified that desire.
Like I said, Look no further!! This is the place as far as we are concerned. But stay away from the last 2 weeks of June 2025. We are already planning a return visit to Grassington. There are more trails to explore.
Peace,
V and M
Cottage was clean & comfortable & in a nice quiet location Re parking it was very busy & had to park on the Moor lane car parkThe shower is a bit tricky if you are 6 ft tall as there is a supporting beam on the ceiling to contend with , mind your head !
