Having stayed at many cottages over the years, this has got to be one of the very best. It’s immaculately clean, very spacious, warm and comfortable with everything you need plus more. The beds and linen are excellent, kitchen fully equipped and living room large and welcoming. Even got a decent sky system!The welcome pack is the best we’ve had, normally you get some milk and bread if your lucky, this is a big step up. The area is beautiful even in mid winter with walks from the door and towns like Skipton and Ilkley not far away. I wish all holiday rental owners took as much pride in their property as Alison and Mark obviously do. We loved our walks along the river - down by Barden bridge and Aplletreewick was our favourite, and handy to have two great pubs there to finish. All the local food was great and everyone was friendly. We hope to return some day, as there is plenty more on the doorstep to discover. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the owners thoughtfully provided a welcome pack with milk, bread, butter, wine, beer etc. We were lucky with the weather so the car stayed parked up, we walked to Grassington and Burnsall amongst other places and we enjoyed sitting in the garden. There is a big lawn so we were able to play outside with our grandchildren when the family came for the weekend. The nearby pub is extremely friendly and the food is very good, we ate there most nights. Regarding the next door haulage yard, there was nothing to disturb us at all, it wasn’t a problem. Alison the owner was lovely and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Flatts Barn. It is equipped and appointed to a very high standard and we really felt like we were staying in a true luxury property. The bed was really comfortable, the bathrooms lovely and the lounge a delight. We visited during some very warm weather, but it was easy to imagine how cosy the lounge could be in the winter with the log burner in full flow. The cottage is also in a great location from which to explore the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales.
