great stay

Lovely house, actually an old windmill done up very nicely. The garden is great, with a swing and climbing trees for the kids, and fresh lemons right from the orchard! Very nice people, checkin and checkout with no hassle. They even made us some cakes :)

Lovely restored windmill with seaview

We had a fantastic stay at this exceptional place. The Mill offers everything You need for some relaxed days, huge terrace with seaview and even a hammock. Very friendly and helpful hosts! Perfect location to explore the eastern part of Crete.

Wonderful holydays !

3 months in this beautiful mill were really fantastic ! We enjoyed everything and were spécially happy about the situation, the quality and the originality of the spot. Great period, still fresh and often we were the only strange strangers ! We made a warm fire everyday and had great instructive conversations with Lefteris and Kate. Unforgetable holydays and we recomand absolutely !

A Charming Crete Windmill Getaway

Our family recently enjoyed a week at a delightful windmill property near Sitia, and it was an enchanting experience. The windmill seamlessly combined modern comfort with traditional charm, offering a cozy and well-equipped retreat. A slice of heaven

Three friends and myself stayed at the Windmill at Anemomili for five nights. We loved the drive up to Sitia that grew more and more wild and beautiful. The windmill is magical. Extremely comfortable and put together with so much care, artistry and love. The hosts were proactive and keen to ensure that we had a good time, giving us a lot of ideas of what to do. We had some beautiful beach days (Vai and Itanos are fabulous), and also visited Toplou monastery and some of the archeological sites. We loved a supper at Retro in Palekastro - great local food at reasonable prices. We also cooked in a lot and the kitchen was easy to use and had everything we needed. There is no shop/mini market in Agria Fotia so you must do your food shopping in Sitia or Palekastro. That side of the coast is quite wild, and swimming in the beaches very close to the windmill is not great unless the day is very calm. But, there are such beautiful beaches not far away that that shouldn't be a concern. Thank you to our hosts - we loved every moment of our time there.

Perfect stay at a perfect property

The Anomemili rental is on a beautiful estate with a view of the ocean. It was comfortable, the hosts were caring and fixed anything that needed fixing right away. I was welcomed by Lefetris and Despina with cookies and they checked in periodically to see I had no problems. The place itself is immaculate with a weekly cleaner. The grounds are a delight. In short, I will probably go back because it was a perfect place.

Windmill holiday great experience

A very unusual and quirky place to stay, it has been converted to a comfortable holiday home on a number of levels ( so you need to have full mobility). Our host was very warm and welcoming and we had some very interesting conversations. the beds were very comfortable , the kitchen was well equipped too. It was a peaceful location set in beautiful gardens off the main road but it was very easy to visit the next village of Palekastro for shopping and eating in the tavernas. Not far into Siteia if you want a busier place. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit to take in the atmosphere. We would recommend for couples and small groups. If you enjoy touring and exploring there are some lovely beaches within 20 to 50 minutes drives depending on your choices. If you like quiet and peaceful beaches try Itanos and Xerocampos. A great holiday, will return.

Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl und zuhause gefühlt. Die Unterkunft bietet alles, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Die Mühle selbst, wie der umgebende Garten werden durch die Vermieter liebevoll gepflegt. Die Besitzerin Katharina war bei Fragen immer präsent und unterstützte uns in allen Bereichen. Sehr schöne Unterkunft, überkomplett ausgestattet. Tolle Aussicht aufs Meer. Nahe zu Sitia. Freundliche und Hilfberbereite Zu Stränden muss man fahren, dafür gibt's tolle in der Nähe.

Un tres bon moment passé en famille a Sitia. L’hébergement est en tous points conforme a l’annonce et est un havre de paix où il fait bon séjourner. Séjour fantastique dans un lieu exceptionnel

nous avons passé 6 jours reposants dans le moulin. La décoration est soignée, l'endroit très propre et bien aménagé. Le papa du propriétaire habite derrière le moulin et est disponible pour donner beaucoup d'information sur les endroits à visiter , la crète et ses coutumes. C'est un endroit un peu hors du temps, à 10mn en voiture de Sitia . Nous recommandons aux amoureux d'authenticité...

Erholsame Tage im Oktober

Wir hatten eine schöne, erholsame Woche in der schön renovierten Windmühle. Der Besitzer wohnt direkt hinter der Windmühle und es befinden sich noch 3 weitere geschmackvolle Ferienhäuser auf dem großen, gepflegten Grundstück. Wir haben uns jedoch zu keiner Zeit gestört gefühlt. Der Besitzer ist ein sehr freundlicher Herr, er spricht hervorragend Englisch. In dem großen Garten waren gerade die Granatäpfel reif und wir durften uns jeden Morgen einen zum Frühstück holen, herrlich!!! Die Windmühle ist, wie beschrieben, auf 3 Ebenen, nur Kinderzimmer und Bad haben Türen. Leider war über dem Ehebett kein Moskitonetz und die kleinen Viecher fanden trotz Gitter vor den Fenstern immer wieder den Weg zu uns. Was sehr lästig war!! Auch muss man bei Nacht einen guten Schlaf haben, da die Holztreppe zum Schlafbereich extrem laut knarrt wenn einer zur Toilette geht. Stört selbst im Kinderzimmer. Die Betten selber sind sehr bequem. Der Küchenbereich hatte schon deutliche Abnutzungsspuren an den Schränken und den Gegenständen. Dies hat uns jedoch nicht wirklich gestört da wir in der Regel außer Frühstück nichts weiteres in der Küche zubereiteten. Das Bad ist klein aber sehr schön, vielleicht noch 2 weiter Hacken für die Handtücher wäre toll. Im Außenbereich ist viel Platz und es war zu der Jahreszeit herrlich ruhig so das wir uns gut vorstellen können erneut dort unseren Urlaub zu verbringen, jedoch dann eher in den hübschen kleinen Ferienhäusern auf dem Grundstück.

Sehr empfehlenswerte Ferienwohnung in alter Windmühle

Großartige Unterkunft mit wunderschöner und liebevoll dekorierter Außenanlage. Die Vermieter wohnen gegenüber und sind total nett und hilfsbereit und geben wertvolle Tipps. Nur das wirklich schöne Bad ist ein bisschen klein. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und fühlten uns rundherum wohl. Auch die Katzen sind total süß und haben uns jeden morgen und abend begrüßt.

We had a great week hiking around Kreta with the nice Mill as our Base. The object was exactly as described in a very quiet area some minutes outside Sitia. We really felt at home, as everything we needed was there. We even got home made Olive Oil and Pomegranates from the Garden, which were delicious. So, we had a great time and can only recommend this place.

Verzaubert auf Kreta

Wir verlebten zwei wunderschöne Wochen in der historischen Steinmühle "Anemomili", inmitten von Oliven- und Granatapfelbäumen. Die Anzeige beschreibt das Objekt zutreffend. Alles was nötig war, damit wir uns wohlfühlten, war vorhanden. Agia Fotia bei Sitia ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für vielfältige Ausflüge. Ein goßes Erlebnis für uns war eine Wanderung durch die Richtis-Schlucht, die für uns, die wir im fortgeschrittenen Alter sind, eine ziemliche Herausforderung darstellte. Auch das Baden kam nicht zu kurz. Wir bevorzugten dafür den Palmenstrand Vai. Gerne denken wir an die Gespräche mit Lefteris und bedanken uns bei ihm und seiner Frau Kate für die Gastfreundschaft, die sie uns entgegengebracht haben. Cornelia und Volkmar

Schöne ruhige Tage in tollem Abiente

Die vielen guten Kommentare können wir nur bestätigen. Schon der Empfang durch Lefteris war sehr herzlich und informativ. Auch während des Aufenthalts hat er sich äußerst nett nach unserem Wohnbefinden erkundigt und und uns auch sehr wertvolle Tipps gegeben, z.B. die tolle Fischtaverne am Strand von Chiona. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle für den bereits gut gefüllten Kühlschrank und das selbst hergestellte Olivenöl! Die Ausstattung der Mühle ist so gut wie komplett, der Ausblick auf das Meer und Sitia sehr schön! Bedingt durch die Bauart sind natürlich ein paar Treppen zu steigen, für uns natürlich kein Problem, für Gäste, die eventuell nicht gut bei Fuß sind, wäre speziell im unteren Bereich ein kleines Geländer eine Idee. Dies ist aber nicht als Kritik gemeint, sondern nur ein Hinweis. Mit den Katzen haben wir uns sehr schnell arrangiert und hatten speziell mit dem jüngsten und sehr neugierigen Katzengast sehr viel Spass. Insgesamt ein toller Ort zum Entspannen, gute Lage zu schönen Stränden und ein außergewöhnliches Ambiente mit einem super netten Gastgeber! Gerne wieder!
