Key Lime, the fifth unit in this tranquil community is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit with room for 6 guests to cohabitate happily. Offering a private screened-in patio, it is a popular choice for travelers with slightly larger families. A sofa provides a comfortable place to read and relax on a lazy vacation day and the small table and chairs on the screened-in patio of Key Lime is an ideal spot to enjoy morning coffee or a sunset dinner. Open the door and walk inside where an open concept floor plan harbors no secrets. The living area with its wood-like tile floor and comfortable leather sofa faces a large flat screen television. The dining area tucked away in the corner of Sand Dollar is where games will be played, meals will be devoured, and adventure planning sessions will be held under the light of the lamp hanging over the table. Reminders of the herons that make Heron Lagoon their home adorn the walls of this space in the form of bright and colorful paintings that realistically depict their peaceful natures and serene beauty. Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and custom cabinets painted a crisp white give the kitchen a modern appeal, while the shabby chic backsplash softening the space and adding a beachside cottage feel. As in the other Siesta Heron units a Keurig coffee maker allows coffee, tea, or even cocoa drinkers to start out each day the way they love best. Key Lime provides a beautiful master suite, offering a queen bed topped comforter. The bath is an updated room, featuring a wide granite topped single vanity and a walk in shower backed with tiles that resemble wood flooring. Bedroom number two is also furnished with a king sized bed for additional guests to utilize. Occupants can pull the blinds closed before drifting off to dreamland and sleep in as late as they want, but there is so much to do on Siesta Key we think getting up with the sun may be a good idea after all! Minimizing the possibility of morning traffic jams when six people are staying under the roof of Key Lime, the second bath features a tub shower combo and another wide and spacious single vanity topped with granite. White cabinets and a dark framed mirror give the space a modern appeal. If even more sleeping is needed, there is an air mattress that can be setup for you in the living room for those additional house guests. As with all of our Siesta Heron units, it is the outside spaces that will thrill and delight. A community pool that is heated in the winter months, grills placed strategically throughout the property, and a large deck that looks over the tranquil waters of Heron Lagoon are just a few of the amenities you will find in this quiet community. Beach cruisers and beach gear make beach days that much more fun and a coin laundry, although not glamorous or exciting, can be a life saver when traveling with kids who can't help but make messes everywhere they go! It is an older property with many upgrades. It was only a one mile walk to the beach and it was quiet by the pool. The bikes needed a little work. We did not take advantage of the kayaks but they were there to use as well. The only drawback was a large boat parked in the paking lot that sometimes made it difficult to get out of your parking space. We bought coffee and filters only to find a luring style coffee maker in our unit. Also, We had an issue requiring we speak to the host and had to wait 24 hours for a response. Sleeps 6, which we were. The dining area only seats 4\. Two bedrooms, only one dresser for 6 people. Had to buy extra hangers, everyone got "one drawer " in the dresser . The kitchen.....exactly six plates, bowls, mugs etc. There are no serving dishes, storage containers etc. One dish towel and zero dish clothes, another purchase. Screened in porch, again seating for 4\. Great outdoor space in desperate need of repair and updating. We had some plumbing issues early on and they were addressed immediately, thank you for that. We enjoyed the paddle boards, kayak's, bikes etc...Great Laundry facilities. The pool is small, but adequate. The pool area and furniture could also use some repair and updating. All in all we made the best of it and enjoyed our time in Siesta Key. ##### Marty V. We arrived late on Sunday night to find a puddle of water under the bathroom sink in the master bathroom. It took until Tuesday afternoon to get someone to come fix it. Prior to arrival we were not made aware that the complex was under construction. It was very loud from 9am-5pm leaving the screened in porch, that I was so looking forward to using, as a place that couldn’t be enjoyed to do my work. This also left the pool area not a place of enjoyment as it was very loud and there were construction workers parading inside the fenced in pool area constantly carrying building materials. This was not a setting where I was comfortable donning a swimsuit to go sit as a single female while my husband was working. The “quiet” lagoon area with the decks overlooking the water were also under construction and the area to access them were also blocked by a construction trailer. On day of checkout, housekeeping attempted to enter the house without even knocking at 9:52am. Mind you, I was preparing my things and only needed to gather the trash to take out with me, but they didn’t knock. When I went to the door they also didn’t apologize and when I exited the unit several minutes later I told them I was out & they never even acknowledged me & continued talking among themselves. The parking lot is not very large, the housekeepers vehicles were parked where it made it almost impossible to get my truck between vehicles. Overall, VERY disappointing. ##### Chrystie S. Stayed 3 nights in Mar 2025 ### 8/10 Good #### Sheri T. 28 Apr 2021 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location, listing accuracy #### Peaceful, Quiet & Spacious We very much enjoyed our stay & loved the layout & space of our 2 bedroom unit with the wonderful screened porch overlooking a nice clean, sparkling pool very few used and had all to ourselves one afternoon. The back of the property overlooking the water early in the morning to the sounds of little creatures with coffee in hand was glorious. We even cast a few with rod & reel left on the dock. There were only a few hiccups, but nothing earth shattering. I did not get much sleep the first night due to a rubber mattress pad that’s hot & noisy when you move around in bed. That’s old school bedding & could use something that breathes & doesn’t wake a person like me when your spouse has restless sleep. Also the headboard is not attached and clatters against the wall every time you hit it re-adjusting your pillows. Finally we figured out to put a pillow between the wall & headboard for less interrupted sleep on night 2\. On a king size bed, king size pillows would be divine. Next, the night before we were to check out, our partial toilet paper rolls upon arrival emptied out and there was not even 1 roll in the whole place. I was told by the rental manager the next morning when I called to report toilet/ shower back up as the last event before departing today that I needed to buy my own. We only stayed 2 nights and we can’t have one roll as a back up. Sorry. Missed that detail as we are busy buying home in the area and were a bit preoccupied and missed the toilet paper rule. I told rental manager we had to resort to kitchen paper towels & he seemed to want to draw a link between clogged plumbing & assume we didn’t place paper towels in trash can which we did! I had to repeat myself 3 times attesting we did NOT place paper towels in the john. We have septic system in one of our properties. We know! No blame on our end. All in all it was a great stay. Perhaps just an update to bedding & pillows not that comfortable would be great! You have a gem of a property & wonderful Siesta Keys! Florida here we come!! Again, thank you for allowing our stay. The unit was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The screened in porch was nice, just wish it had a separate door access to the pool.
