Property was impressive from outside. Inside it was pretty run down and musty. Staff at the pool was very nice. It would be nice if pool would work loner-it closes at 8pm.

First room was dirty, toilet hadn't been cleaned. Remains of last person opening their bowls on inside of toilet. Second room dirty. Bed was uncomfortable, dipped in middle and you could feel the springs. Worst hotel ive ever stayed in.

The staff were amazing. They were friendly and understanding and did go out thier way to cater for our needs. Definitely recommend the hotel.

The area is quiet and lovely. The breakast was good. The leisure centre is lovely. Bed was a bit too soft for my husband and I as we are use to a firm mattress. Our room was ok but some of the wallpapers needs tapping up. The hotel overall needs some updating.

We had a lovely stay the staff are all so nice and helpful, everything went really well. We just feel the hotel needs a bit of make over as starting to look very tired & dated in decor, but that said the place is absolutely spotless and the staff make the place so very well done to them :)

Our impression overall was one of disappoitment and the generally poorish state of the much of the interior of the hotel. Our room was smaller than anticipated especially as it was advertised as a classic 'Manor Room' The heating was off on our arrival and twice during our stay we had to request that it be turned on. There was no bedside lamp on one side and again we had to request for one. The room was not cleaned on the second day with no sign to use to request or 'do not disturb' - this would be useful for all rooms! Breakfast was fair but no muesli or continental breakfast was on offer nor fresh fruit. Evening meal was good. Spa and swimming pool were good though no towels were available on our last morning and the attendant suggested that my wife go back to our room to get one - not good! Except for him the taff were helpful and polite but we would like to see improvement especially as the hotel is in such a nice location and has the potential to be much better. Investment is clearly needed!

The property is set in a vast land, that enable guests to go for long walk, within the compound. The building is beautiful and you can see the allure, from years gone by. The building need a bit of sprucing up, to reflect it statue.

Good for quick stop
Stayed for one night as family of four. Hotel was lovely albeit a little noisy with Christmas Party going on but it wasn't too much of an issue. Bedroom was cold on arrival but a quick fix by staff member and radiators were working again. Facilities in room were great, beds very comfy. Hubby didnt sleep well though due to heavy rain throughout the night, which was very noisy where guttering is broke just outside bedroom! In fact, there was a broken bit directly above the door meaning you have a shower every time you came through it!! But overall- pleasant enough stay :)

Booked a deluxe room with garden view and got a room that looked nothing like a deluxe room in the pics and a view of the car park. The chef didn't turn up in the morning so got no breakfast.

Disappointing
Broken lampshade, bad lights, creaky beds and uncomfortable mattress. Unclean changing rooms for swimming pool, not looked after. Not given any information when checking in regarding check out, how breakfast works ect just given key and sent off, didn’t seem like the staff cared. Walked past by staff multiple times in the morning whilst waiting to be seated for breakfast, not a great atmosphere.

They do not provide the facilities they advertise. Why pay high costs for rooms when the dining room is not open and the gym and spa have very limited hours? The manager even sent an email with the times of the spa. But this was inaccurate and meant I turned up just before they were closing. A rip-off when they don't have the facilities they state.

Great hotel that needs some TLC. Wonderful staff!
This is a lovely old building, but it does need some TLC! We were given a family room, which was bigger than we had expected. Whilst being very clean, the room could do with some redecoration and updating. Maybe an upgrade to the double bed and a few more plugs would be nice, with so many devices in the family! (And a fridge would be nice.) Lots of towels and clean fresh linen. We had an issue with a damp patch at the bathroom door, which was dealt with promptly when we pointed it out. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff we met were really lovely and very welcoming. The pool was clean and warm, with fresh towels supplied. Would highly recommend it and will definitely return.

Yes the decoration could do with updating but the comfort and value you get, along with great staff, means a good stay. You get a very good breakfast and access to the on site leisure facilities.

The hotel is in need of some tlc, very tired and shabby. The rooms are not comfortable, the breakfast was inedible and the staff are either very young and inexperienced, presumably weekend workers only, or either telling guests how they have too many jobs to do. Either way, don’t seem too bothered about guests. The stay was anything but relaxing.
