This central area is the heart of Shivasatakshi, primarily known for the Satakshi Dham temple complex. The main roads here, such as the East-West Highway (Mahendra Highway) and the smaller local roads leading to the temple, are where you'll find the majority of guesthouses, local eateries, and shops. It's a relatively compact area, making it easy to get around.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat with cultural significance, staying near Satakshi Dham is ideal. The temple complex itself is a significant pilgrimage site, and the surrounding area offers a serene environment for exploration and reflection. You'll find smaller, family-run guesthouses that provide a quiet and authentic local experience, superb for those wanting to connect with the local culture.

Travellers interested in local culture and a convenient base for exploring the region will also find this area suitable. The proximity to the temple means you can easily visit multiple times, and the local shops offer handmade crafts and traditional Nepali goods.

The best time to visit Shivasatakshi is during the autumn months of September to November and the spring months of March to May.

During autumn, the weather is typically clear and pleasant, with comfortable temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C. This period offers excellent visibility for enjoying the natural landscapes and outdoor activities. The skies are often blue, making it ideal for exploring the tea gardens and local villages.

Spring also offers agreeable weather conditions, with temperatures usually between 25°C and 32°C. The landscape is lush and green, and various local flora are in bloom, adding to the scenery. This is a good time for those who enjoy slightly warmer weather and the beauty of nature awakening.

Both these seasons avoid the monsoon rains, which typically fall from June to August and can make travel and outdoor activities challenging due to heavy downpours and potential road disruptions.
