Shimoni est situé proche de l'île de Wasini, l'île de Funzi et sa rivière de Ramisi.  
  
Propice au Snorkeling, plongée, visite des Dauphins. Ce récif corallien riche en espèces, offre un habitat à plus de 250 espèces de poissons ainsi qu'aux tortues et dauphins.  
Selon la saison, on peut également y trouver des baleines à bosse .  
  
A 44 kms de la forêt sacrée de Kaya Kinondo, 48 kms du centre de conservation des Colobus, non loin de la frontière de la Tanzanie.  
A quelques pas des grottes des esclaves à Shimoni et face à l'île de Wasini et le fameux parc marin de Kisite Mpunguti.
