Room needed a lot of tlc
We had a good size room with a separate lounge area. Unfortunately the bedroom window was screwed shut so we could not open it. The whole room and especially the bathroom was in need of modernisation. As the premises was on the main road it was quite noisy even at night so if you are a light sleeper like me it will not be for you. It was not all bad though, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good. Plenty of parking. However because of the poor condition I would not recommend.

The property had been repossessed. I had no email from you or the hotel and didn't find out till we got there. By that time it was to late to find another hotel so had to drive the 160 miles home. Was not impressed at all.

B&B from hell
Disgusting run down B &B. Big safety issues. Smoke alarm covered with a plastic bag. Mould and mildew everywhere. Dirty glasses in the bar. No toilet roll in the communal toilets down stairs. Breakfast was ok but slow service. Stained carpet in the bedroom. Ended up sleeping in my van with the dog. Noisy from road immediately outside.

I wouldn't even let my dogs stay in that hotel it needs to be inspected 1 fire exit was blocked by chairs , the hall way carpet up to the rooms was filthy And heavy stained The banisters , were lose , the carpets were a trip hazard ! The room a single was so dirty stains on carpet doors and frames and walls dirty , a radiator in the room was dirty the kettle was dirty , the tray with coffee etc teaspoon dirty opens carton of milk ! Now where to hang anything Onky a small cubotad with a couple of coat hangers the blind on the window was covers in dust ! On complaint I checked out after 20 mins I have asked for my money back ! How you can show a guest to such a dirty room is terrible ! Then to say it had been cleaned ! It's such a shame cause if was pulled up it would be a lovely place to stay ! Having said all that the bar area seemed ok !

The best part was the garden. The room was dirty and smelly. We had to use wet wipes to clean the surfaces and adapter plug. The carpets were grubby and very stained. The headboard was broken and there was a very dead looking plant falling over in the corner. ( we watered and staked it whilst there) The tv would only work for a couple of minutes before turning itself off. On a positive, the sheets were clean. We won’t be returning.

The property is awful. Apart from being in a poor state of repair (room 3) but throughout with threatbare poorly fitted carpets, window not fitting properly, shower in poor state with the hose not fitting into the housing. Stool in room ripped, one bedside lamp that you had to shake to work. It was dirty, behind the small chest was filthy with a teaspoon, some paperwork and an open milk sachet. The carpet was dire. I understand old and tired buildings but I do not accept poor cleaning. On the positive side the breakfast was very nice and the serving staff pleasant.

The property is not in top notch condition. I could see minor issue with plumbing, painting, cleanliness in general. There property abuts a pretty busy road and if you are a poor sleeper this might be a bummer. Staff were quite friendly and are willing to help you out with every issue. I would not say the same thing about the owner though who sounded harsh over the phone prior to my check in. I requested for a mini fridge in my room to stock some baby food and it was promptly arranged prior to my check in. Breakfast was quite good - eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, toast , hash brown. I stayed for a single night so don’t have much complaints about my stay as such. But I don’t think I will prefer to stay here for a longer duration.

Enjoyed our stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The chef is excellent, his lasagne is out of this world. Easy to get to and close to East Somerset railway, Kilver gardens etc.

Good little hotel, well situated.
I have stayed on a few occasions now, but had a problem with my room as one of the wheels had come off the bed. I was immediately moved into a beautiful double room, more of a suite than a room although my room was a single. Excellent customer service and quite happy to get up on a Sunday morning early for breakfast, so many hotels won't.

Our room was more like a suite! We had our own little sitting room. It wasn't perfect, just in need of a little updating, but it was clean and great value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Would definitely return.

Stayed here for one night and found it to be a very friendly welcoming place great staff and great food,large dinning room / bar with plenty of choice if fancy a few drinks Good size room with sky tv and tea making facilities,the room was warm and clean. It’s not a 5 star ritz hotel so don’t expect it to be for the cheap prices

Shocking Hotel. It advertises a bar and food. No Food available either evening. When shown to our room we discovered 2 windows left wide open, which wasn't funny considering it was snowing !!!. One of the windows blew open again in the middle of the night (gotta love running around in your smalls, in the middle of the night, trying to shut out a blizzard) and yet again when we were out the following day - it was open for at least 2 hours leaving a good 10 inches of snow on the sofa and inside my suitcase !!!!. Needless to say it was bloody freezing. The owner is quite possibly the rudest man I have ever met.

would not recommend this place at all. Room was freezing, Carpet worn and patchy, bed side lights didn't work and staff couldn't find new bulbs. Noisy, as the person in the room above us had their TV on loud till gone 1.00am and then again from 5.00am. Window didn't shut properly and in the morning there was condensation on the outside not inside !!! Bathroom bin hadn't been emptied. Only good thing was the bed was comfortable, despite only having one pillow each, and the breakfast was excellent.

I planned a weekend away with my sister, a day shopping,and watching Strictly Come Dancing together, the television was broken, we asked twice for someone to have a look at it and they just explained that it’s just poor reception, there was no sound or picture.The shower had hairs in it and someone had wiped something on the tiles ( I took a photo not pleasant

Economically priced older style hotel
Ideal location at the edge of Shepton Mallet. Easy to find and although on a very busy road it was quiet with nice views overlooking the countryside. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the in house restaurant was spacious, modern and comfortable. All the food was delicious and the menu had two vegetarian options however the chef was happy to make up a different meal to our request so we had another choice. The breakfasts were very good with a wide choice including full English. All in all excellent value for money. I would be happy to stay again when I'm next n that area.

Good price accommodation that is easy to find.
The hotel is located on a main road and has a carpark adjacent so its easy to find and good for the local tourist attractions. The room was very clean (apart from the kettle which was being used as a tea pot), the bathroom also. It was comfortable and the breakfast was top notch.

Room was noisy as was above kitchen. (Extraction fan in bathroom brought all smells in from kitchen below) Shower head wouldn't stay on had to hold it cause it was broken. Didn't replace coffee or milk with my 4 nights stay. Never reaplaced towels just folded them up. Free wifi didn't work.
