"Beautiful cabin at a reasonable price. We arrived after dark so finding the cabin was difficult. There weren’t any maps to indicate which cabin was which. We had to walk from cabin to cabin in the dark to find the right one. No wi-fi and the TV didn’t work."

"Breakfast was only shortcoming. There was a delicious banana bread and good coffee, but little else. The town is small, so finding a good breakfast was a bit of an issue."
"Very difficult to rate this hotel since there’s nothing to compare it to. Checkin was seamless and the lady took me right to my room. It’s a separate entrance from the lobby. The room had a real key, a shower, sink, fridge and microwave. The AC worked great but it was loud. The room had a ceiling fan but only worked with the light on so not for sleeping. The floors creaked but that’s to be expected in a century old wooden hotel. All the furniture was vintage, period correct and the whole experience was like stepping back in time.
And the bathroom was down the hall but no matter. A breakfast was laid out early in the morning in the lobby, the coffee was great and there were lots of variety of cereals as well as what looked like fresh banana bread and some cherries.
All in all, I enjoyed my overnight there, it was a unique experience!"
"Cutest cabin ever! Exceptionally clean and well appointed. Beautiful views.Even skipped going out to dinner so we could enjoy the solitude. You can definitely tell a lot of time and effort went into making this place perfect!"
"The cabin is everything we'd hoped it would be. The place itself is well-appointed; there are a few quirks like the freezer and laundry being in an attached structure, requiring an outside trip to access. But that's just small potatoes - a lovely countertop ice maker minimized any freezer needs and who needs to be reminded of laundry when there's the mountains to look at. The porch is a perfect place to relax during the day and venture out to see the stars at night. The town of Shell is close by, with a lovely store and bar. Location is great for day trips to hike and visit historic/scenic/cultural locations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider it again."
"Bear Lodge is an amazing place to stay! We loved every minute from the warm welcome, to the great bar, the awesome breakfast, the helpful staff and the amazing nature location. If you are looking for a cozy, quiet, and serene spot in nature, this is it!"
