As it was paved over a decade ago, there is some wear. Please drive slowly and with caution. While the drive can be intimidating for those unfamiliar with mountain roads, a variety of vehicles including coupes, sedans, minivans, and SUVs (not all of them AWD) have successfully navigated the road. AWD is recommended during icy conditions and snow. Regular pest control maintenance is performed but as this is a mountain home, sometimes pests do find their way indoors. This can be more common in the fall when insects like ladybugs and stink bugs seek shelter. They are harmless and do not bite or sting. We loved that it wasn't in a vacation community, and that it was tastefully "cabin decorated." We were very thankful because we were allowed to check in a bit early as there were bad storms heading our way. Overall the house needs a bit of TLC but worked very well for our large group. The house isn’t as stocked as we are use to but we knew that ahead of time and were able to bring everything we needed. Communication was prompt anytime I reached out. It is our second stay. It is stocked with everything you need to start your vacation. The location is amazing and private. The owner are nice and easy to work with. It has beautiful secluded views but you are not to far from attractions, stores, restaurants. Would definitely rent this house again when we come back. Renting this property was great for us and we all thoroughly enjoyed it - from the 1 year old to us Grandparents. The views of the mountains from inside and outside the cabin are fantastic! We loved the location. It was private with no other houses right beside it but only a short drive into town. Our family spent 4 days at Trace of Heaven and it was wonderful! Spectacular views while still close to town for convenience. The home was well kept and the owners were very responsive and helpful with any questions or concerns. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute staying at Trace of Heaven. We even got to see a mother bear with her two cubs (oh so cute)! The cabin decor is beautiful and the views can't be beat!! The kids loved the downstairs area as their hangout!! Owners were very responsive to questions.
