With sweeping views of Douglas Lake and mountains framing the scene, you'll realize what a peaceful retreat was intended to be. Three spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms will give you and your guests privacy while staying under one roof. A full basement recreation room with 65 inch smart TV, pool table and karaoke machine will entertain your group while maintaining the fantastic lake and mountain views from that space. Rise & Shine has three porches that give unique views of the lake and mountains: one porch just off the living room/dining room with ample seating; one porch is off the basement rec room and one private porch off the third floor bedroom with a porch swing to enjoy the view with a cup of coffee. The fire pit on the side of the cabin is fun for wrapping up the day with smores and great conversation. The cabin has a boat ramp and dock which gives you access to Douglas Lake for fishing and swimming right from the house and bring your boat to explore the over 500 miles of inlets and coastline that the lake has to offer. If working remotely is needed, the cabin has complimentary guest access to WIFI and internet services. An office nook on the third floor overlooks the open concept kitchen, living and dining areas below … not to mention keeping an eye on the lake and mountain scenery. A fully stocked kitchen has all the cookware you'll need to cook or grill at the house, as well as a crock pot, Keurig and blender. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our place! Only 15 miles to Dollywood and The Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains are local to this cabin as well. Please note: Lake Douglas is a Tennessee Valley Association controlled waterway so the lake level is controlled via a dam operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Although somewhat unpredictable because of the varying amount of rainfall, usually the lake level is maintained fairly full from spring into the latter part of the summer. If your concern is being able to see the water, you can see it all year round. If you are planning to bring your boat and launch it from our property boat launch, make sure you check with us or local authorities to make sure you are comfortable with the existing water level. We have direct water access with a dock and a boat launch. While this property is tucked away it is ideal for a few day trips to hike the Smoky Mountains or access to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Grocery stores are about 15-20 minutes from the cabin and it's a nice 30 minute ride to Pigeon Forge, and 45 minutes to Gatlinburg. A second chalet with two more bedrooms and two full bathrooms is on our property next door and may be available for rent at an additional price, availability permitted. They provide floaties, kayaks and a paddle boat for those that don't bring a boat. The area is peaceful and quiet but close enough to enjoy Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in under 45 minutes. The cabin was clean and ready when we arrived. The views are great, and it was so relaxing to grab a cup of coffee and sit on the deck in the morning. The dock was perfect for fishing, swimming, and boating. We brought a small 2 person sailboat and rented a pontoon boat from H2O water sports. Dana and Chris were excellent hosts. They called us when we booked and when we checked in, but otherwise they left us alone to enjoy our vacation. The cabin was well stocked with cooking amenities, games, books, WiFi, water toys, and other fun things. The pool table was great and so was the karaoke stage. We loved sitting by the fire at night after a long day of playing at the lake. We can’t recommend this cabin enough. It was the perfect getaway from everyday life and the hustle and bustle of business. The location is ideal for an escape from chaos. The house is tucked away on the hillside by itself. No neighbors in sight. (We also rented the smaller chalet on this property for some of the family to have extra space). Everything was clean and well stocked. Extra towels and linens were available. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, plates, cups, and grill was ready for use with a full propane tank. The kids enjoyed jumping off of the dock and swimming in beautiful Douglas Lake. The adults spent time fishing (TN license required) and boating (rentals available at H20 watersports nearby--awesome folks). The sunrises and sunsets were a welcome revival for the soul. This house has numerous gorgeous views of the lake and plenty of window space to enjoy them from indoors as well! The host and hostess were helpful and courteous. They checked on us every few days to make sure we didn't need anything. Overall, it was a seamless experience. This property was very quiet and the lake was very beautiful. We all enjoyed the kayaks. The cabin is very spacious with plenty of room for all. The drive to town is a long but beautiful drive. Clean and feels like home. Kitchen is well furnished with clean and almost new pots and pans. We live this place and the host are amazing to to work with. ##### William C. We had such a great time at Chris and Dana's cabin They were always available and very attentive. They house itself is lovely and so comfortable. And the view.... I realized when trying to take pictures, that it is just so much better in person! Gatlinburg, PF and Sevierville were very busy, so it was always nice to come back to the peaceful lake! Our only issue was with the Wi-Fi sporadically , but it gave us a chance to unplug. It was a quiet location and awesome lake views. Close enough to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for shopping and eating but away from all the people. Loved the place and will definitely be back. Great communication from the owners and they checked in on us multiple times before we arrived and while we were there. ##### Thomas S. The home is very comfortable and very well equipped. The owners are excellent communicators and checked in with me every day to make sure we were comfortable. Owners provided so much information about the property that it made planning super easy. Views of lake and mountains from every window were stunning.. Cabin was clean, up to date and gorgeous. We rented a pontoon boat one day. Had fun with paddle boat and kayaking! Very nice cabin and we would recommend it to other families! Get your supplies before you settle in the House! Dana and Chris did a wonderful job having everything in the house you might need kitchen and otherwise! Mornings and evenings just fantastic! Along with seeing deer in the morning by the lake, we were lucky enough to see a bald eagle. Thanks for a relaxing 5 days. ##### James P. We stayed in Chris and Dana's cabin these past four days and it was amazing! Great views, beautiful cabin and the best birding we have done in years, right off the deck! Two mature eagles and two juvenile eagles, delighted us, six to 8 times per day with their fly by acrobatics! . Plus many, many other birds as well. Dana is a wonderful host to this incredible cabin! This is a beautiful property both inside and out. The view is magnificent and there is plenty of outdoor space from which to enjoy it. Inside there is ample space to both gather together and/or to find a quiet spot. It was immaculate, well-organized, and well-equipped. The owners have anticipated every need. You can kayak, swim, play pool, watch herons and eagles, relax and enjoy the view, and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are so glad to have found this place! ##### Molly H. Our family needed this! The view, WHAT!! Pictures do not do it justice! How truly beautiful…. The memories we made during our stay and experienced with my teenagers and missed family… beyond words…. The views are breathtaking. We usually give ourselves a break from cooking when we are on vacation, but after arriving we decided we did not want to eat out every night and take advantage of the amazing views at dinner! The lake provides a great place to fish, swim and kayak. The hosts are thoughtful and so organized. They provide you with a list of things you need to bring along with what you do not need to bring and suggestions with what to do in the area.
