To complete your elite Smoky Mountain experience, we have curated a selection of the region's most distinguished dining destinations. From the sophisticated "food and spirit outposts" of Gatlinburg to the artisanal, scratch-made kitchens of Wears Valley, these culinary landmarks are the perfect complement to your stay at Diamonds in the Sky.
The Gatlinburg Selection: Sophisticated & Historic The Greenbrier: A premier "Food & Spirit Outpost" tucked away in a historic log cabin. Known for its in-house dry-aged steaks, an incredible whiskey selection, and the legendary "Dylan" cocktail, this is where culinary artistry meets Smoky Mountain serenity.
The Peddler Steakhouse: A cherished Gatlinburg tradition built into the former home of a local pioneer. Request a table by the Little Pigeon River and enjoy custom-cut steaks and a world-class salad bar in a refined, intimate setting.
Chesapeake’s Seafood & Raw Bar: For those seeking coastal elegance in the mountains, Chesapeake’s offers fresh seafood, an oyster bar, and a sophisticated atmosphere that rivals the best of Charleston or Savannah.
The Pigeon Forge Selection: Modern & Vibrant The Appalachian (Sevierville/Pigeon Forge Border): This "mountain-chic" gem redefines regional cuisine. With a massive wood-fired grill and a menu that pays homage to traditional Southern ingredients with a modern, upscale twist, it is widely considered the area's most progressive dining experience.
Gaucho Urbano: An authentic Brazilian Steakhouse offering a sophisticated tableside service of 16 different cuts of meat. It’s the perfect high-energy, high-luxury choice for a night where you want the food to be the main event.
Bullfish Grill: Specializing in Grand Champion Angus Beef and fresh seafood flown in daily, Bullfish balances an upscale lodge feel with a menu that consistently delivers excellence for a more contemporary date night.
The Wears Valley Selection: Artisanal & Local Elvira’s Cafe: A local icon that proves "luxury" can be found in the perfect brunch. Featured in numerous Southern publications, Elvira’s offers a contemporary take on mountain cooking using locally sourced ingredients—try the crepes or the Tennessee Haystack for a refined start to your day.
Geppetto’s Italian Restaurant: A charming, family-owned destination for those seeking a romantic Italian evening. It offers a cozy, "away from it all" vibe that perfectly matches the peaceful pace of Wears Valley.
Hillbilly's Restaurant: While casual in name, this is the gold standard for "mountain-comfort" breakfast. It’s a must-visit for families looking for a high-quality, authentic Southern start before a day in the National Park.
Pro Tip for Your Stay: Reservations at The Greenbrier and The Appalachian are highly sought after and often book weeks in advance. If you are planning a special celebration or an anniversary dinner, we recommend securing your table at the same time you confirm your booking at Diamonds in the Sky.
For the discerning guest at Diamonds in the Sky, the standard tourist trails simply won't do. To help you escape the crowds and experience the true "soul" of the mountains, we have curated an Elite Hidden Gems Hiking Itinerary. These selections prioritize serenity, unique natural features, and the prestigious views that define a world-class retreat.
The "Private Viewing" Selection: High-Elevation Splendor Andrews Bald via Forney Ridge (3.6 miles): While thousands flock to the Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome) observation tower nearby, only the elite continue to Andrews Bald. This moderate hike leads to a high-elevation grassy meadow offering panoramic, unobstructed views of the southern Smokies. In late spring and early summer, the flame azaleas turn this "bald" into a private garden of orange and red—a perfect spot for a secluded, high-end mountain picnic.
Spruce-Fir Nature Trail (0.4 miles): For a quick, "other-worldly" experience, this high-elevation planked walk feels like a journey through the Pacific Northwest. Located near the highest peaks, the air is cooler and smells intensely of balsam. It is rarely crowded and provides a quiet, meditative atmosphere amidst the moss-covered "ghost forest."
The "Local Legend" Selection: Wears Valley Secrets Spruce Flats Falls (2.0 miles): Tucked behind the Tremont Institute (just minutes from Wears Valley), this is a true "insider" waterfall. It doesn't appear on most official park maps, keeping the crowds at bay. The trail rewards you with a spectacular tiered waterfall and a beautiful swimming hole, offering a level of intimacy you won't find at the more famous cascades.
Walker Sisters Place via Metcalf Bottoms (2.2 miles): Accessible via the "back door" entrance to the park in Wears Valley, this easy walk takes you back in time to the preserved 19th-century homestead of five sisters who refused to leave when the park was formed. It is a quiet, evocative journey through Appalachian history that feels deeply personal and far removed from the tourist hustle of Gatlinburg.

Wonderful place! Clean, beautiful, and absolutely stunning!!! Amazing kitchen for all cooks/bakers! Piles of clean bedding/towels and comfy beds! Amazing for large groups but you definitely need at least 2 nights to experience it all.
Property is very well maintained. Very clean and spacious. Something for everyone in our group to do. The kids enjoyed playing outside and in the play area in the down stairs. There is also board games, pool table and a movie section you can watch movies as a family or just the kids. The adults sure enjoyed sitting outside on the spacious deck enjoying the beautiful view of the sky and the mountains laughing and talking..just catching up. It was such a nice time we had at this wonderful cabin. Definitely recommend this cabin.
It was our first time to the Smoky Mountains. We had three families with six kids in total. The loft area was absolutely perfect for them. And the three bedrooms with their own bathrooms was absolutely the best set up for the adults. The house was beautiful and stocked well. We enjoyed every evening playing games on the back deck. Daniel and Berna were great hosts. They even sent us a message to let us know about some storms coming through. We will definitely be back and will look for this place on our next stay!
This Cabin is one of the best that we have ever stayed in!
Just about EVERYTHING, and I mean everything is there to make ones stay feel as though they never left home.
I feel as though Daniel and Berna have put in a tremendous amount of thought of making their guests, whether a couple, small family or a large one right at home!
There is plenty of space to enjoy the beauty around you whether its sitting on one of the 2 decks, by the cute little playground or the wonderful outdoor chimney fireplace.
I enjoyed my morning coffee while it was still cool out in the bright sunlight and as it grew hotter i made my way under the overhang to sit in the shade.
There are 3 extremely large bedrooms each with their own gigantic bathroom.
Part of our stay was rainy so my husband and relaxed in the movie theater seats and caught up on a Netflix series.
Friends staying in another cabin nearby were just as impressed as we were and plan to stay there next year.
Last but not least, Dan and Bern were very helpful and kept in contact to make sure we didn't need anything.
Although we enjoyed this trip as a couple, I would not hesitate to bring my kiddos back next time!
The place looks exactly as pictured! The views were breathtaking! We all can't wait to come back, one night was not enough. Just one suggestion to anyone planning a stay, remember to bring everything perishable you will need if you are cooking. Most VRBO's we have stayed in have items such as salt and pepper and some usual condiments. This place doesn't so don't expect anything to be there, make sure that you bring anything perishable you might need to cook with. Other than that, it was exceptional. Book this place, you won't regret it!!!
Our stay at this cabin in the Smoky Mountains was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views, thoughtful amenities, and the peaceful atmosphere. It truly felt like a home away from home—only better! The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The kitchen had all the essentials (and more), and the cozy living room with the fireplace made for the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub on the deck—soaking while watching the sun set over the mountains was unforgettable. We also loved the game room and fire pit, which added so much fun and charm to our evenings. The location was ideal—close enough to enjoy Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the national park, but secluded enough to feel like a true mountain getaway. We hiked, saw bears (from a safe distance!), and even had time to just sit on the porch swing and enjoy the peace and quiet. The host was outstanding—responsive, helpful, and truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was top-notch.We’re already planning our return visit. Highly, highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to experience the magic of the Smokies in comfort and style!
