Your perfect Smoky Mountain vacation awaits at A Step Above. The cabin is situated high on Cove Mountain which provides views that will take your breath away. We are located in Wears Valley, just minutes to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park entrance (Metcalf Bottoms entrance). The cabin sits on a 3.5 acre lot, so there are no cabins directly beside or below. The cabin is over 3,600 square feet, so you have plenty of space to spread out. The main level features a large family/dining area with 2-story ceilings and 180-degree views of the mountains and valley. There is a natural stone gas fireplace in the main living area. The fully equipped kitchen is spacious and features brand new Kitchen Aid stainless appliances (with a double oven), granite countertops, and plenty of cabinet space to store your groceries. The Master suite features a his/hers closet and attached bath with garden tub, shower and double vanity. Just outside the main living area you can step down off the deck onto a custom stone patio and propane fire pit. There is seating for eight, and the hot tub is adjacent to the patio. This feature was custom built in Sept. 2023\. The fire pit provides heat and cozy ambiance, but is not for cooking s'mores or food of any kind. Sit back, relax and enjoy the sweeping mountain views. The deck wraps around the main level and boasts 180-degree views of the mountains and valley. There is a porch swing and six rocking chairs to enjoy the mountain air and views. The loft level features an open seating area with two plush swivel rockers & ottomans, a TV, and gorgeous mountain views. Off the loft seating area, there is a Queen bedroom with vaulted ceilings, a full bath, and a bedroom with two twin beds, also with vaulted ceilings. The lower level has a comfy TV seating area with a recliner sofa and two plush recliners. A gas fireplace adds warmth and ambiance. There is a pool table and game table, and a cabinet full of board and card games. There is a queen bedroom, a full bath and laundry room on this level. The movie room features eight theater seats and a large wall mounted television & sound bar for watching movies, shows and games. We feature the fastest internet available in the area. It's a premium business class speed, perfect for working remotely/virtual school. We are just 10 miles from the Parkway (Pigeon Forge), and only 14 miles from downtown Gatlinburg traveling through the National Park. The National Park entrance is just minutes from the cabin, via Line Springs Road, at the Metcalf Bottoms park entrance. From there, you can navigate easily to Gatlinburg or Cades Cove. The KitchenAid appliances we very nice, took a sec to figure out the ovens but once we did, we discovered we were making it harder than it really was. Furniture was very nice. You can see this owner wants their guest to be comfortable. We didn't use the hot tube, but it looked to be very clean and didn't smell like a bottle of chemicals like most public hot tubs do. The fire pit area was awesome. Watching the fire at night and looking out on the valley was so relaxing. THE BEARS......every evening staring around 5:30 the bears made their rounds. What a sight to see. If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, then stay here! Just as the pictures portrayed it. The kitchen was stocked with all of the utensils, pots & pans, electronics needed and all upgraded! The view of the mountains is incredible, we also loved spending time around the firepit and in the hot tub. The cabin itself was clean and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials. Also the location of the cabin is perfect, we were close to everything yet the the cabin gives u a very secluded feel. Would highly recommend, absolutely loved it. ##### Craig S. This was a great place to hang out with our friends and enjoy the breathtaking views from this house! The fire pit area was dreamy and we felt so secluded. Great communication with the owner. The cabin is spacious and peaceful and has a breathtaking view. When we arrived, Michelle had a gift waiting for us — matching Mr and Mrs mugs from a local potter. It was so thoughtful and such a special way to celebrate our trip. Hot tub was great, and the gas fire pit and fire places were very convenient and easy to use. Can not say enough about this property or the owner! Amazing house, views, and owners! We staysled for a wk and loved it! Owner is readily available to answer questions we had. Views are amazing! Only suggestion when looking at this property is vehicle. We all had trucks/lg suv, but would not suggest a low\_/small car as the drive up the hill is a little squirrelly..would definitely stay here again though!!! ##### Jill S. Great location out of the hustle of Pigeon Forge with a scenic drive back to Wears Valley. Cabin is stunning and well kept. Michelle (the owner) was super and the views…..just magnetic. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive or mountain drive capability because it’s a steep climb up but it’s worth that view. ##### Suzana Q. The house is beautiful! The views are amazing! We had a great family vacation. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck overlooking the valley. We had a fun evening in the game room. Enjoyed a family movie night in the movie theater. Enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing by the fire pit. The house is not far from the national park where we enjoyed multiple hikes. The views from the enormous shared spaces and the hot tub can’t be beat! The whole house is beautifully decorated and true to the posted pictures. The road leading to the property is SUPER steep and it does take about 25 minutes to get into the heart of pigeon Forge but that was fine with us! Being a little remote was what we wanted! Overall perfect property for our family of 6 (ages 15-50) but would not be good for older folks or families with toddler age children as the steps to the levels are a little slick and many. This cabin was amazing - so clean, the beds were comfy, the views, especially the sunsets were amazing, so much room in the cabin to spread out & not be on top of each other. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. Location is great - close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg & the Smokies. We wish we could have stayed longer. We were always on the go and didn't get to use the firepit, play pool or watch a movie in the home theater. I have done lots of VRBO rentals and this is definitely #1 on my list and I would love to return in the fall and stay longer.
