Excellent cabin for extended family. Great entertaining space and game run area were outstanding.
Location so close to the National Park was fantastic. We had several bear sightings, even right on the front porch.
Our family of 9 all had a great time!
Three families stayed in this cabin (10 people) and we had plenty of space. We loved playing pool and all being able to sit at one big table for meals. The cleaning people missed a few things, but overall it was clean and we would stay again.
This property has the most amazing view. Did not get to see any bears, but there was evidence that they visited the last night. The adventure driving upto the cabin, was in itself fun. We had an easy check in and check out
The view was fantastic. The house was great for family time, playing pool, grilling and meals. We realized the drive to the house was better from Line Springs Lane. There were a couple of bears that walked across the deck almost everyday, so we had to stay aware. We made sure to remove all food from the cars, lock the cars and keep the garbage locked. Overall, it was a great place for a vacation!
The drive up the mountain was scary the first time but we got used to it. The house was beautiful. We had an issue with the heat but someone came out and fixed it very promptly. The drive way has very little wiggle room we fit 3 vehicles comfortably and the neighbors were nice enough to let us use one of their parking spots they didn't need.
We loved the house - it was perfect for our family getaway. The drive up was a bit treacherous, so use extra caution. We didn’t come in after dark. The views were spectacular. We had bear visitors every day, they seemed afraid of us and didn’t try to come up to where we were. We suspect past guests have fed them. We were careful with our food. Most of the TV remotes needed new batteries, but otherwise this was a perfect stay.
We were a group of 5 adults and 6 children. Ages ranged from 1 yr to 69. We had plenty of space to gather together, or to spread out when things got chaotic. Kitchen was adequately stocked, and all appliances worked. We did not try out the hot tub. Parking would have been very tight with more than 2 cars.. we saw bears daily, even up on the deck, which the kids loved, but it meant they could not go out alone. Beds were comfortable, with plenty of linens. Overall, a wonderful vacation, with lots to do in the area. We didn't even have time to get to Dollywood! Maybe next time.
Cabin was in a great location with a great view. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect for 4 couples to have our own private rooms and bathrooms. We encounter a small within minutes of arriving and had several come by the house during our stay. The house was moderately clean . Lots of dust, and wear and tear. The kitchen was stocked with everything appliance and kitchen tool we needed to make our Christmas meal. We request our trash be picked up twice but no one came so we had to leave it inside the house. The hot tub did not work at all which was upsetting since that was one reason we chose this cabin. Overall we enjoyed our stay. to make our meal

Not what the pictures show
The cabin is in need of some maintenance. The view from the deck is 50 present blocked by large trees. The trees need to be trimmed. The deck itself appears to be under construction which it is in bad need of. Overall, the cabin was comfortable. It is in need of a good cleaning.
We enjoyed the area and found a lot of activities to do. We are all past retirement age. The cabin was easy to get to and in a good location it you are going to visit the Great Smokie Mountain Park and or Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We did have a great experience and if and when the cabin receives some much-needed maintenance it will be a great place to stay.
Overall we were very happy with the cabin. Beautifully decorated and amazing view. Kitchen had enough dishes/pots/pans to accommodate a family. However, we weren’t entirely sure it was cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. Dirty dishes in dishwasher, coffee grounds in coffee maker, rug didn’t appear to have been vacuumed upon entry. Dead flys on lowers level window ledges and used bars of soap in shower in one of the bathrooms. Fitted sheets on one of the King beds were too small and got annoying after a week long stay. We did have visitors a few nights with a morning visit our last day of a mama bear and 5 cubs under the deck. We watched her and cubs for a long time and kids were very excited to see this. Drive up cabin was a bit hairy but we got used to it and also found another way up that seemed a bit better. It was a very memorable and fun family vacation.

Top of the Mountain
We recently stayed at this property and it was nice, clean, and had a spectacular view of the Smoky Mountains. The drive up to the house definitely needs a vehicle that can climb up to the top. If there had been any weather it would have been easier to walk up. The cabin itself was fine but the kitchen was lacking in supplies to cook. They had silverware, plates, glass cups, and coffee cups but some cooking basics were missing (cookie sheets, cooking utensils, mixing bowls, can opener). If you need a crock pot they had 4 but dish soap could not be found (I did call to request dish soap and was told it would be delivered but it never was). We did have creatures visit the cabin. One night while we were at the fire pit a black bear had made his way onto our front porch. That created a bit of excitement. Overall, we enjoyed our time but would not rebook this property or with the property management company.
The view from the cabin was so beautiful! The cabin had plenty of space for our group of 8 and lots of activities to do while we stayed at the cabin. The cabin could definitely use a good deep clean and has had some rodent visitors at some point. We didn’t see any during our stay, but did clean rodent droppings out from drawers and cabinets. There is definitely bear activity in the immediate area, so keep small children with you when walking around the property. The drive to the property is pretty treacherous and I would advise getting to the cabin in the daylight the first time you come. All the roads up the mountain are a bit confusing. We made it without a vehicle that had 4 wheel drive, but if you are going in the rain or snow, I feel like you would need it. We brought 2 vehicles and that took up almost all of the parking for this cabin. The cabin was close to everything we wanted to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We would definitely stay again and had a great experience working with Aunt Bug’s Cabin Rentals. They were quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had.
Having 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms is indeed a plus with 7 adults and 2 children. We spent much time on the porch and had many bear visitors......PLEASE DON'T FEED THEM. We hiked to Laurel Falls, ate at Elvira's and bought tasty peach and blackberry wine at Tennessee Shine Co in Wears Valley. (free tastings and refreshing wine slushies).
Metcalf Bottoms has hiking, water and picnic area. We went there twice. Kiddos loved the water.
Coffee lovers MUST go to Little River Coffee Company in Townsend (which has numerous shops and sights). We were there every morning for a real cup of coffee. My husband purchased a 5 pound bag of beans (did I mention they roast them there on location?) The owners are friendly and it's obvious they love what they do.
We had a wonderful time in spite of some issues with the house. (Ceiling fans that wobble, door knobs that need replaced, water leaks, no propane fire pit (was rusted out and behind the shed), 6 open holes dug so we didn't use the lower porch area, and downstairs bath not clean) Management was alerted to all these and addressed what they could with us there. The house needs some maintenance that can't be done while rented.
The kitchen was nicely stocked with plenty of silverware, glasses, cups, plates, etc.
The grill worked just fine. EVERY time we grilled we cleaned the grease tray and pan. If you don't, you're liable to have bears damage the grill.
Line Springs Rd. is a better way to get to Majestic View!

The Truth About This Property
To start, the view was indeed magnificent, but keep reading. Up a huge mountain with very difficult roads. Not sure if a small or older car could make it even in good weather. The setup of the house is great for 8+ people because there is plenty of seating and space. We used both upstairs and downstairs as a family hang out spot. The pool table and arcade table provided a lot of entertainment. The two sofas worked well for our 6 adult-sized guests, but would not have fit more.
This could be a place that we would consider returning to; however, there were a lot of issues showing that the place isn’t kept up very well that I think people should know about before deciding to spend this amount of money. Cleanliness showed that comforters are not likely washed between guests. Entire house felt gross. Hot tub didn’t get hot and was precarious on the porch with water drastically different heights from one side to another. Grill didn’t work and had clearly been patched many times. Most door knobs were installed poorly and one locked my kid in a bathroom. Washing machine was unbalanced. Branches scratched the roof. Ceiling fans rattled at any speed.
I have a much longer write up that won’t fit in 1500 characters so I will send to the management company. I hope the owners see this and request it from them as well. I would be embarrassed to have my rental taken care of in this way.
We loved the house. The kids really enjoyed the downstairs games and theater area. The driveway is a bit of a challenge. I am just glad it was good weather

Check in was automated texts with information on the day of check in (No issue there). House was in decent order, clean, and satisfactory. The grill has seen better days, but was mostly functional. Theater room was a big plus, air conditioning was nice and cold, and really good times were had. The view was pretty nice, too. FYI 4wheel drive / all wheel drive is suggested to get up there on a wet day. The downside was the amount of bear activity. We saw no less than 7 bears (2 male, 2 female, 1 2-3yr, 2 cubs). They would stroll across the porch directly in front of the windows every 4-6 hours. It really limited the time we could spend on the deck or outdoors in the hot tub. Bear Bummer, for sure.

Be Careful
The house was very spacious and can accomodate a large group. There was lots to do in the house and surrounding area. The incline to the house requires a vehicle with AWD and is on the edge of the mountain. Beware of the Black Bears and other outdoor animals. Property could use some updates and extermination.
Truly a Majestic View. Spacious open concept living room on upper ground level & lower level theater/game room with an exit to fire pit courtyard. The 4 bedrooms with 4 baths let our multi generation family settle in comfortably with the eldest not having to walk stairs. We saw great sunrises from inside the cabin!! Porch gave great view of Wears Valley & the north side of the national park. We even got to see a young bear. Would be 5 stars if not for the heater having an issue the morning after Thanksgiving and Aunt Bugs sent out maintenance man within a few hours. Unfortunately the issue reoccurred & an HVAC company had to be called (on a holiday weekend). A fire in the fireplace kept the main living room comfy (it is a cabin high in mountains). The HVAC company couldn’t get a solenoid until Monday- nobody at fault (just the way life happens) but cabin got too cold for us when firewood ran out. Aunt Bugs had great communication with us before trip & for check-in. The road leading up the mountain is steep with a couple of steep switchbacks, but our large sedan with normal traction tires & good breaks had no problems. They gave us a caution about Asian Lady Bugs that are in the area and offered to deliver a vacuum if they entered cabin. We only had to remove 5 from cabin, but the kindness of the advance offer is great service. Extremely well stocked with plates & cups.

Cleanliness
The cabin over all was exactly like it was described. However, when we arrived it had not been cleaned after the previous tenants. The linens were dirty, trash not taken out, toilets and bathrooms had hair and dead bugs everywhere. When I notified the rental office, they wanted to send the cleaners out that night which would have been after 11pm which would have been ridiculous so since I refused we weren’t given any of the cleaning fee back. But considering our check in was delayed due to the cleaners still be on-site, it was aggravating. We will not be staying with Aunt Bugs Cabin rentals again, nor do we recommend them at all.
