Escape to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and enjoy a memorable stay at The Byres, a charming stone barn conversion tucked away in the peaceful hamlet of Selside, near Settle. Surrounded by spectacular countryside, this spacious retreat is perfectly placed for walkers, cyclists, couples and families looking to discover one of Britain’s most breathtaking landscapes.

Sleeping up to four guests, The Byres offers three comfortable bedrooms—a kingsize, a double and a twin. Although there are three bedrooms, occupancy is limited to four guests, giving everyone the luxury of extra space to relax and unwind.

Step inside and you’ll discover a welcoming holiday home where exposed beams and traditional features blend effortlessly with generous living spaces. The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric double oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine, with tea, coffee and milk waiting on arrival. A separate dining room provides the perfect setting for leisurely breakfasts or relaxed evening meals after a day exploring the Dales.

After miles of walking or cycling, sink into the cosy living room, light the open fire and enjoy a favourite film, a board game or simply relax with a good book. Patio doors open onto the private rear patio and mature rockery garden, where you can savour your morning coffee, enjoy alfresco dining, fire up the charcoal barbecue or simply sit back and soak up the peace and tranquillity.

Upstairs, the traditional character continues with comfortable bedrooms and a family bathroom offering both a bath and separate shower. Families are well catered for with a cot, highchair, stairgate and fireguard available. Wi-Fi is provided throughout, while a lockable outbuilding with a tumble dryer offers secure bike storage and drying space, making The Byres an ideal base for outdoor adventures in every season.

The location is every bit as impressive as the property itself. Scenic walks and cycling routes begin right from the doorstep, while the Yorkshire Three Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, together with the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct, are all within easy reach.

Just a short drive away, Horton-in-Ribblesdale offers welcoming pubs, cafés and a station on the famous Settle–Carlisle Railway, one of Britain’s most scenic rail journeys. Discover Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Janet’s Foss, White Scar Cave, Ingleborough Cave, Gaping Gill and the spectacular Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, all within easy reach.

The vibrant market town of Settle offers independent shops, traditional pubs, cafés, a weekly market and one of England’s highest golf courses, while historic Skipton is perfect for exploring its medieval castle, canal and bustling high street. Whether you’re conquering the Yorkshire Three Peaks, exploring dramatic caves and waterfalls or simply escaping to the countryside to recharge, The Byres is the perfect Yorkshire Dales retreat where unforgettable memories are made.
