Our chalet was spacious with an amazing desert & mountain view. We opted in for full board and food was great with plenty of choice. A bit weirdly, we had fish which was fresh and well prepared (couldn't say the same for all the places we stayed at in Namibia, even of others were by the ocean). This location worked well for their organised morning tour (which eas good) and a self-guided trip to Sesriem Canyon. The lodge is larger and more busy than many other in Namibia (because of the location) so be prepared for a lot of people and Western style busy dinner buffet. The lodge is unbounded to the desert which is nice for seeing Oryx come wandering nearby. Our room was large, but the bathroom oddly hot with a strange smell. I traveled 1000 miles in a 4x4 truck and I travel spontaneously without a strict itinerary. I needed a hotel to stay near the entrance to Namibi Naukluft Park and Sossuvlei Lodge was perfect!! It is located a 3-minute drive from the park entrance. It was perfect. While staying at the lodge, I was able to find dark space back behind my room and get incredible photos of the stars and the Milky Way. The lodge is beautiful and luxurious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were top-notched and included such interesting and delicious foods. I didn't realized until I checked out that this lodge is considered one of the best in the world! Our unit was a bit of a walk away from the parking area so that was a challenge. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms (really no wifi in all of the area). You had to go to the restaurant or bar area to get wifi and that was very frustrating. I could not even make phone calls from my room without a wifi connection. Rooms are fantastic, food and service all very very good and the safari tours from the lodge one of the very best. A great place and would highly recommed it.
