It was my first time in Selma. I booked this hotel weeks in advance. First the hotel was in the middle of a renovation. The sounds of drills, saws, hammers etc. I couldn’t sleep as they started working at 6am. There was debris right outside my room door. Second the pool didn’t work. Third the workers was doing electrical work and shut off the power to my room in the middle of the night, it got unpleasant with the air conditioning not operating. This was not a good experience for my family.

I booked a room with sofabed was told it was not available essentially I overpaid and got a room with a jacuzzi tub which turned on during the middle of the night. The A/C unit was loud. The sheets were stained so I had to change myself as housekeeping was gone for the day and there were no towels. Overall a terrible experience. The only saving grace was the breakfast and friendly staff.

Furniture in the room was dated. The room air conditioner was very noisy, made it hard to sleep at night. Pool was unavailable due to hotel renovation.

The property was very organized and safe. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was amazing along with the staff. The only downfall at this particular time is that the pool area was not available due to ongoing renovations which was okay because the atmosphere of the room was very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone that is visting the area.

We were on a business trip and 5 of us checked. My supervisor did not have her work badge, but she had her business cards and ID, along with the rest of us. They harassed her about not having her ID and proceeded to change her rate. They gave me a room that was under renovation and blamed Travelocity for assigning the room although I received the key from the front desk attendant. I requested a room at government rate when I made the reservation, but was told they didn’t offer the rate at the hotel. I will not stay here again.

The hotel lobby smelled musty. Our room was not clean. I tried to call the front desk, and I was hung up on every time. When we asked the lady in the hall, she was very nice to help us. She was the only one working. The breakfast was good.

Seems kind of run down.
The shower and sink drain VERY slowly, so we felt dirty when we got out the shower. The clothes washer is broken. Water is leaking in the hallway. Seems a bit run down. Bed was comfortable. No electric outlet on one side of the bed.

They need to show their prices in dollars, real dollars. I got my bill the next day and I paid $198 for a room that wasn't even ready until around 5 or so. That room wasn't that good to pay $198 bucks. never again.

I Would Not Recommend this Hampton Inn
This is by far the worst Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in. The hotel is in need of a thorough cleaning and refurbishing. The room I stayed in had a broken sink, the tub would not drain (which they fixed) and the mattress was terrible. I asked for fresh towels and was told that none were available and I had to wait until the next day. This hotel does reflect what I have come to expect from the Hampton Inn chain.
