El Portal was like staying in a lovely art gallery. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Our room was huge, with a fireplace, private outdoor firepit, and every amenity you could want. It didn't feel like a hotel at all...more like you were staying at someone's home--warm, welcoming, and decorated beautifully. It is located steps from Tlaquepaque shopping village and within walking distance of the main part of town. The lobby is fully stocked with everything you could need for snacks and breakfast, including s'mores kits. I cannot recommend this gorgeous, secluded place more.

Spectacular property! Gorgeous common spaces and enormous room with beautiful southwest decor. Included breakfast bar was top notch and complimentary afternoon snacks and beverages were a lovely touch. Outdoor courtyard with firepit, Adirondack chairs and multi-colored Edison lights was a delightful spot to unwind at the end of the day. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

**An Exceptional Stay in Sedona!** We absolutely loved our stay at El Portal! It's a truly special boutique hotel in the heart of Sedona, with a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and a fantastic location. What really sets El Portal apart is its charm and personal touch. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who at 78 years young is still actively involved in the hotel. He has a fascinating story and a great outlook on life. His mantra, "Just Act!" — take your ideas and vision and make them happen — really stuck with us. We stayed in Room 10, and some of our favorite moments were enjoying a fire on our private patio each evening and sipping coffee in the morning while taking in the incredible red rock views. The nightly courtyard fire adds to the hotel's warm and inviting atmosphere. El Portal has a character and authenticity that's hard to find at larger hotels. We couldn't have been happier with our experience and would highly, highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sedona. We can't wait to return!

The atmosphere of the property was beautiful and relaxing inside and out in the center garden with water feature. Very calming and unique. Staff very friendly. Room was so gorgeous, we could not of asked for anything better. Within a short walk their is shopping and dining. The Secret Garden is a wonderful place to dine. B/L/D ❤️

The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. The courtyard is a nice place to relax and make smores. It was quiet the whole time and Teri gave us great information on some places to visit. Please let them know if you are arriving later since the lobby is not always staffed. We didnt know since we booked through Expedia, but we were able to contact someone after hours for instructions.

Great getaway

Great place to stay, historically designed architecture and interior furnishings. Would definitely stay at the El Portal again. Small inn that has guest access to the resort next door pool and spa which we took advantage of.
