"The hotel is very well decorated and looks lovely! The spa is lovely, we used it 2 out of 3 days, hot tubs lovely and warm, also has a cold pool, sauna and steam room, all very good! The Asian restaurant was really good, with great staff and lovely atmosphere, it was full on a Monday evening it’s that nice!! My only negative is they don’t have an electric car charger but they have some in Bowness not far away. "

"I had a nice stay till the bill had nearly £299 of service charges on and when my partner paid in cash for a round of drinks they also added it to the room trying to make us pay twice abit of a let down tbh "

"The hotel is well located for access to the town, shops and bars. There are also a lovely walk behind the hotel on the old railway line to Threlkeld as well as down round the lake. The room was very clean and breakfast and dinner were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was plenty of parking "

"Lovely polite friendly staff. spotless spacious room with a pretty view & lovely little touches throughout the hotel. Free onsite parking, Spa was a real treat - open til 8pm which is fab after a day of exploring. Only negative was the coffee at breakfast was very weak but coffee machine was better! "

"We booked two rooms for one night stay. The team at Kellbank couldn't be more helpful and friendly. We travelled with our dog and that was not an issue either. We will certainly come back. "

"A free drink instead of room service is an excellent idea. Guests really don’t need room service every day if staying multiple nights and, if so minded, can fold the ends of their toilet paper into little triangles themselves! "

"Underwhelming. This is a very ordinary hotel, despite the hot tubs, pool and spa. The decor is vile, all dull browns with turquoise. In the “Troutbeck” room there is a nasty trip hazard into the bathroom. A stubbed toe was annoying but a cracked skull would have been more so. Tip: if it’s not fixed put a rolled up hand towel down to fill the gap and catch your attention. Pillows were like sandbags and need immediate replacement. The mattress had an uncomfortable lump and was likely in need of replacement too. The hot tub was good, as was the jacuzzi bath. The fridge was handy, and the chairs comfortable enough for a short while. Free parking on site. The building is a maze of corridors and stairs. Regrettably the lift was out of order for the first 24 hours or so. As a walking stick user this was less than ideal. Breakfast was okay but not special. My choice of evening meal, “roast of the day”, was almost inedible. Vegetable selection poor. The wait staff were pleasant but scruffy, in contrast to the smart and highly exuberant maitre’d. It is far from being a gourmet restaurant and there are other places to eat."
