Ocean View...2 min. walk to bluff TOT ID# 1915. Welcome to Castlehaven, our beautiful light-filled haven designed by noted local architect Bob Hartstock. Just a two minute walk from the Scenic Bluff Top Trail and Salal Cove, our house is located in the desirable north end of Sea Ranch. We are only a mile from the charming town of Gualala. This lovingly and beautifully decorated home includes original artwork by a local artist, a private office, 2 master suite bedrooms, plus a private guest bedroom and 2 1/2 baths. The open living room borders on a dining area that seats 4, a music nook with a baby grand piano, and a fully-equipped kitchen with bar implements and glassware. Outside in our spacious and private courtyard, you will enjoy outdoor dining, access to a BBQ, and a wonderful, soothing hot tub with a view of the night skies. Wildlife is abundant here. Wake to the sounds of the Ocean, and enjoy seeing birds, deer and fox right outside your window, and from the front patio. The first master suite has French doors leading to a lovely private garden, and a large, heart-shaped Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The second master has a gorgeous view of the golf course and the ocean beyond. The third bedroom is a very private haven separate from the main house, across the courtyard from the hot tub. All bedrooms have queen size beds with memory foam mattresses. A washer and dryer are available, including soaps, and fabric softeners. For our guest's enjoyment, we have a huge selection of books, movies on DVD, CDs, "streaming" TV, DirecTV and board games to while away your time when you are relaxing after being immersed in nature and all the activities of Sea Ranch. Please be aware that the fireplaces are non-functional because of problems with smoke and soot. Besides the Bluff Top Trail, there are three recreation centers with heated swimming pools, saunas, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, 50+ miles of hiking trails, mountain biking trails, beautiful coastal views and hidden waterfalls. This was a perfect place to spend a few days in July! The weather was amazing and the walk along the bluff trail occupied most of our days. We saw so much wildlife! The house itself has beautiful architecture, spacious places to unwind and read/relax, and of course the hot tub. The beds were comfy with soft linens. About 4 minutes drive away there is Surf Market that supplies anything you could hope to cook. John was easy to communicate with and the check-in/check-out was well organized and easy to understand. We loved the breathtaking views, the cozy and well-appointed furniture, the relaxing hot tub, and, most of all, the charming piano. Communication with the host was straightforward and flawless. The architecture of the home itself is quite unique. Add the perfect Sea Ranch location, two ensuite bedrooms in the house (there is also a third bedroom that we did not use), well equiped kitchen, hot tub -- all 5 minutes from the Bluff Trail, and it is truly a special place. The location was fantastic - close to bluff trail, short drive to Del Mar pool, beach, nice kayaking spot, and Gualala for market trips and restaurants. The house itself was very comfortable with nice beds and pillows, great for cooking and dining in, relaxing inside while playing board games, watching wildlife from the window, and the hot tub was wonderful. The three bedrooms have very comfortable beds. The third bedroom is a detached studio space, not in the house itself. Kitchen is well appointed so we were able to cook all our meals easily. The home is spacious, airy and comfortable. Nice to have a hot tub outside and a jetted tub inside. The Bluff Trail is close by so we did a lot of hiking. Played tennis at the Ohlson Rec Center. Can’t beat tennis with a view of the ocean! The golf course was very nice and uncrowded. The weather was absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend Twofish Baking Co. The hot tub was super clean and so relaxing. While the fireplaces are not usable, the home has a GREAT heating system that made the home so comfortable even when cold and/or rainy outside. Loved having one of the master suites on the ground floor so there were no stairs to climb. Only stairs necessary were two from the ground floor to the living/dining area. Only disappointment was that the greatest window to use to watch the ocean waves seems to have a leak between the panels causing condensation and takes the beautiful view away. The host was wonderful to work with, even staying on the phone until he was sure we had access to the key to get into the house. Castlehaven will defintely be put on our list of homes to visit again. ##### Mary M. Property was listed as available for 4nights on vrbo but after talking to John we had to chage our reservation for 3 nights coz new renters were coming and they had to prep property for the new family coming in. Third bedroom does not have separate bathroom and we had to leave front door open for person sleeping in the third bedroom to use bathroom at night. For some reason the power was out every morning and when it was restored took every single of our devices to reset with a password which is very long. I would suggest to create more easy password. View was ok but given people walking in front of back yard playing golf is something that you should be aware of. Barbecue grill did not have a gas so it took a trip to gualala to refill the propane tank(left it almost full for next guests) John was easy to comunicate. Overall a good area but north california coast is always beautiful. Gualala market in a close proximity is a plus. ##### Roman A.
