The weather was not great but not bad. We were still able to do our walks along the bluff. The grandkids enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach. The house was just enough for all of us, very comfortable, and have toys for the kids. If it was closer to the water it would have been perfect, but the walk to the beach is not at all bad. Close enough to the town of Gualala where we bought groceries. Overall, we were very pleased, and wished we had stayed longer. ##### Seigfred J. The house provided plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our family of 10, ranging in age from 1 to 71\. We did have to do some quick baby-proofing due to all of the breakables at eye-level. The main kitchen light wasn't working and was too high for us to check the bulb. Some working nightlights would have been helpful for the little ones. We very much enjoyed the internal space of this Sea Ranch home as well as the out the door trails to the sea. The kitchen was roomy, there is plenty of storage space, and the decor is ocean themed and not overdone. The house was very clean. There were flocks of birds visible each morning right out the kitchen and dining windows. We also saw a large flock of quail in the yard and several deer around the grounds. You can purchase all your groceries up the road in Gualala. If the trails and beaches on the Sea Ranch stretch aren't enough for you, Salt Point State Park is just down the road and the Gualala River State (?) Park is just north. The master is palatial, bedroom 2 is average-sized, and the loft rooms are tiny, not very private, and the bathroom- shared amongst all 3 of the smaller bedrooms- is a perilous trip down metal spiral stairs. The sink taps need repair or replacement, the fireplace isn’t working, the wooden lawn chairs featured as the cover of the listing were not in evidence, and it’s an 8-minute walk to the trail head leading down to the ocean which is another 8-10 minutes away. ##### John D. House was fine and housed our family comfortably. Standard "rental" furniture which needs some upgrading as well as some of the rooms needed painting or sheet rock repairs. Heat in master bedroom did not work well. The master bedroom got uncomfortably hot in comparison to the rest of the house and could only be adjusted by opening and closing the windows. Also, the house is advertised on different social media sites as both accommodating 7 and 10 people-so which is it? ##### ellen g. We stayed at eight other houses on our great California road trip up Highway 1 and none were as magical as this house. This house has a beautiful vibe. The natural light, the scenery outside, the privacy and quiet neightborhood, the endless gorgeous walking trails. We weren't sure about staying in such a remote area, but we are endlessly glad we did. We didn't want to leave! There were 6 of us, 3 adults and three teenagers, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the peace, the great family kitchen. Absolutely fabulous hosts in the office in Guallala, easy to talk to, and very helpful. Of all the places we stayed, we can't recommend this house enough. The only thing I'd change is the pillows and blankets - they smelled a bit musty through the sheets. The house was clean otherwise. Stunning place. The house is spacious and in good condition. Note that the two upstairs bedrooms are lofts without doors that close so not a lot of privacy. No beach towels but the kitchen had lots of equipment for cooking. There is a table and chairs on the front deck but no umbrella for shade. Check in involved going to the management company’s office in Gualala to pick up the key (and drop it off again at check-out) - seems very unnecessary as the key could have been left in the lockbox next to the front door. Not related to the house, per se, but the restaurant options in Sea Ranch/Gualala are extremely limited and overall, not that great. The high point was Two Fish Bakery in Stewart’s Point - delicious bread, baked goods and sandwiches. ##### Betsy and Mike F. Stayed 5 nights in Aug 2021 ### 2/10 Terrible #### sam o. 11 Apr 2018 #### Disappointing The property was dirty - dog hairs, mouse droppings, dead woodlice, even a piece of glass on the floor. Maybe we just got unlucky with the cleaners. Even aside from that the property felt in a poor state - stained carpets and strong sense of stale smoke in some of the bedrooms. One of the double mattresses was old and uncomfortable. Just needs updating and a deep clean ##### sam o.
