A beautiful, peaceful property located on the Western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in St Mary’s County Maryland just 5 miles North of Pt Lookout State Park. 1 minute walk to the beach and Chesapeake Bay shoreline. The property is setup with everything needed for you and your friends and family to enjoy a comfortable stay during each season of the year. Read prior Guest Reviews on VRBO and Google Map to decide if the property will suit your needs while away from home. It has for 150 families over the past 7 years! “Peaceful, cozy, comfortable, everything you need, relaxing, beautiful place to take walks and enjoy a run, we brought our bikes and had so much fun” are all comments we see in Guest Reviews and in the Guestbook. Shopping, tourist and historical sites and full-menu and Bar/Restaurants including Courtney’s which features the freshest seafood meals and Pier 450 and SALT are also nearby and feature Chef created menus and gorgeous water views. Parents are encouraged to shop ahead and bring your groceries with you on the first day because once you arrive, you won’t want to leave to spend any time in a grocery store! “Check-Out” will be a breeze, just follow these steps please: - let me know if you plan to leave before 11am and if any items have become broken/need repair so that we can schedule repair/replacement
- Install Grill cover - Return kayaks and paddle board and oars onto rack and life jackets/beach toys inside the small wooden shed along the driveway (if used) - Turn off / unplug Gazebo lights
- Roll beach cart under cover of deck roof - Turn off AC / lights in Gameroom - Put backyard games, floats, bicycles inside Gameroom -Close mudroom and sliding glass doors Make plans to come again!

A True Gem

Wonderful house in an amazing, remote location. Just footsteps to a sublime, quiet beach. Ideal for families looking to get away from the city for a break and to enjoy nature. House very thoughtfully and creatively decorated, full of charm, and also practical and well-equipped. Wonderful garden and back porch. Easily merits 5/5!

Great cottage on the bay

We had a fantastic stay. The house is fully stocked with everything you may need and more. Quick stroll to the beach. I must dint want anyone to know about this as I don’t want this little slice of heaven overrun with guests.

I booked the Hideaway last minute and was the best decision! The home is VERY clean and well stocked. The game room and beach toys/kayaks were perfect for our short stay! We had the best time hanging out at the firepit roasting marshmallows! We will definitely book again when we return!

A little bit of heaven

The Hideaway at Hayes beach is perfectly situated to enjoy the outdoor offerings. The backyard is lovely and has everything you need to relax and be outside. We saw all sorts of birds, a fox, skinks and little frogs. The kids loved it. What a wonderful, relaxing week.

Wonderful start to the summer!

This was our second stay at the Hideaway. We have come to love Hays Beach like a second home. The backyard is beautiful and feels like stepping into a private park. When the sun got a little hot, we spent time hanging out in the sunroom, which also became our bird-watching spot in the evening. We have already started planning for our next trip to this stunning property.

Fantastic vacation home!

We had a wonderful time! We enjoyed the beach, crabbing, the game room, kayaks and floats and spending time in the awesome yard. The house is very well stocked and very comfortable. Jocelyn is a fantastic host and we really enjoyed our time at the Hideaway!!

Perfect getaway for family time

We had a great stay here for the weekend despite iffy weather. The owners have thought of everything-s’mores station and fire pit, gameroom fun for kids and adults, lovely access to beach and walking. There was really nothing missing- and the beds and furniture were so comfortable! Thanks for the great hospitality!

Fantastic Family Getaway

Family had a great time. Dog friendly private beach with no crowds. Got to try crabbing. Caught dinner for two of the nights. Great property with plenty of amenities inside and out. So much fun.

Great place

This is a great place to stay. We loved the house (it's really as perfect as it sounds) and the location and the description is accurate. I will note that in our July stay there were a significant amount of jellyfish in the water, which prevented a lot of swimming, but that is par for the course for the Chesapeake I believe. We LOVED kayaking around the backwaters and there was a lot to explore. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend time as a family, this is your place. My only recommendation would be to have some sort of "book" with info about the house and posting wifi codes physically somewhere in the house. Would have made it easier to figure things out upon arrival and having all info in one place would be easier.

Awesome house, tranquil place

The house is perfect for family or a small group of friends. It’s very loving furnished and decorated. The kitchen has everything and beyond. The backyard is a true jewel. It has enough space to have a small sunset party (the vistas are stunning) or have some activities with kids. The sea shore is just a short walk away. We loved every bit of our stay.

Summer vacation

Property is in a very peaceful and private community. Many great family adventures to be had in the area and beautiful, peaceful home to relax at. Jellyfish kept us out of the water most of the week, but we knew that was potential for the time of year and location. Overall amazing trip, would recommend.

Wonderful vacation on the Chesapeake Bay

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the cottage. Perfect location and so close to the secluded beach. Extremely clean, comfortable, and wonderful communications with Jocelyn - a most incredible host! Seeing the eagles, osprey, and blue heron were amazing interactions with nature. The scenery is stunning.

Quiet Get-A-Way Bungalow

A quiet get-away in a delightful bungalow with all the comforts of home, and more! It has a sunroom to enjoy morning coffee and nightly cocktails. The outdoor space, is by far, the best we've encountered so far with a stand-alone game room and lounge area, two fire pits (wood and gas), seating galore to bird watch or enjoy a night of stargazing. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the trimmings like spices, and foil, etc. Such an enjoyable stay and a fine respite from the daily grind. Hoping to be back soon!

Hideaway at Hays Beach

Wonderful! Lovely decor, close to the water, fully stocked with kitchen amenities and lots of towels. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Jocelyn was very communicative and responsive. Loved it!
