The room was clean and warm, clean comfortable bed and with plenty of hot water in the shower. My only quibble would be that after my stay I had the whole day to spend in Scarborough and would have really appreciated a safe luggage room at the hotel. It meant I had to cart my overnight bag around with me which rather hampered my movement. On the other hand, the view from the terrace is spectacular and the hotel is slap bang next to the Tramway cars down to beach level. Which was nice.

My room was a budget room, was worried from previous/past reviews it wouldn’t be up to much with-it being a budget priced but thought I’d risk it! The room clean, bright, same regarding bathroom, it was spotless, no complaints at all, very pleasantly surprised. Definitely would stay again and recommend to others.staff were friendly and helpful.

The building is amazing and the location fabulous the views are beautiful and it is close to the town, park and the beach. The hotel is tired and in need of restoration which would cost millions which is reflected in the price of rooms, we had a family room which was very large, sea view(which we hadn’t requested) the room was clean, well stocked and comfortable beds, the shower was huge and good water pressure. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, there is entertainment if wanted. Would recommend, no frills good price in an amazing historical building.

We loved the grandure of the hotel enerance ,check in very easy, staff very good , as we were a trans couple we were made to feel very welcom. Breackfast very good . Room was clean but the veiw was spoilt by the windows that looked as if they had never been cleaned for years. The entertainment was good. We think that brittania should invest in spending some money on this property and it would attract more customers.

The room was clean the staff were helpful. The view wasn't great but the room was only for sleeping in so the view didn't matter, everything was in working order, there were tea making facilities in the room also an iron, ironing board and hair dryer and there was a fan in case it got too warm all in all it was a pleasant experience 😀

Room nice enough, staff didn’t seem interested and didn’t go out of their way to help, lifts not working and older guests left with no help!! Restaurant bar closed meaning no drinks available at meal times which to us was a basic expectation! Overall not a bad stay and would stay again however we would not purchase the breakfast and evening meal again!!
