5/5 Excellent

Great location, lovely pub with character and history. The staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. The room was warm and the tea/coffee facilities plentiful and replenished daily. The windows are old and distorted, and wouldn't close properly, leaving significant gaps (in the room and the dining room). Also the room was above the kitchen, where a heavy door thudded shut every few minutes, with such gusto as to make the bed shake.

Rooms have been recently re-furbished and ours was very comfortable. Excellent shower. We ate in the bar and the food was excellent. Joined by villagers carol singing which added to the Christmas atmosphere. REALLY enjoyed our overnight stay.

    Excellent service

We arrived having booked a garden room but there was a mix up when we checked in as it had already been occupied. However the manager spent over an hour on the phone soprting out a better room for us for our four day stay. She went way beyond what was actually required. First class!
