Exquisite Savannah Vacation Home In Impeccable Location The Douglass House is a large brownstone townhouse located right in the heart of Savannah's Historic District — North, a neighborhood that's considered one of the prime tourist locations — if not the number-one tourist destination — on the Eastern Seaboard. Douglass House's Accommodations The Douglass House isn't just one of our favorite Savannah vacation homes — it's one of the largest. A full-fledged house, this property sleeps six adults, featuring three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. While Douglass House retains its historical Georgian and English Regency architecture — characteristics that make the property such a nice place to stay and contribute to Savannah's rich historical background — it functions just as well as any modern home. Living Room As one of our best vacation rentals Savannah GA, we decked out the Douglass House's living room with a large flatscreen TV and enough high-end furniture to comfortably seat your whole party. Offering views of outdoors thanks to a pair of windows — making the living room a perfect place to relax and get away from the summer heat and humidity. Kitchen The kitchen is decked out with stainless steel appliances, including a double-door fridge with a water dispenser, gas range and stove, range hood, microwave, toaster oven, and dishwasher. The Douglass House kitchen includes many tasteful accents, such as the gold cabinet pulls, which beautifully complement this Savannah vacation rentals' tasteful blue and white color scheme. Bedroom No. 2 This bedroom shares a jack-and-jill-style bathroom along with Bedroom No. 3, making it deal for parents or grandparents who need to keep an eye on the kids, as well as for those rare couples who sleep in separate beds. Nearby Locations Thanks to its convenient location on the northern side of Savannah's Historic District, Douglass House is right next to countless nationally renowned attractions that are absolutely rich with cultural and historical value. Oglethorpe Square Oglethorpe Square is found on the second row of the five rows of squares in Savannah — namely, on the intersection of Abercorn Street and East President Street, where you'll be staying. As one of the six original colonial squares in Savannah — and one of the total 22 squares of Savannah — Oglethorpe Square features beautiful cobbled grounds, tons of shade thanks to its dozens of mature, and old yet well-kept buildings built in breathtaking Classical Revival and Georgian architectural style. Located on the square's eastern side, the oldest building on Oglethorpe Square is the Owens–Thomas House. Today, the Owens–Thomas House takes the form of a historic house museum by Telfair Museums; Telfair Museums has its own history as being the very first public art museum to grace the Southeastern United States. The Owens–Thomas House, which was designated as a National Historic Landmark way, way back in 1976, is still considered one of the best examples of English Regency architecture in the entire country. The Pool is open during the below dates and times. March 1 - Oct 31: Open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm. Nov 1 - Feb 28/29: Open Friday and Saturday from 10am-5pm Additional Pool Hours available during the off-season are listed below. The location of the home is in fantastic walking distance to wherever you need to go in old town Savannah. The beds were comfy and the entire home was so clean. I’ve stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this was the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Super charming and cute! There are nightly ghost tours that walk by the house but it makes it fun! The code was provided in multiple emails before our arrival. The code worked for the front or back door which was convenient for us seeing as we had a car we rented. The car was able to be parked right in the driveway. Kitchen was extremely clean and cozy. This is a wonderful townhome in the best spot you can ask for. One block off the downtown area so that it’s easily accessible but not nosy when it’s busy. It is tastefully renovated with a wonderful kitchen and bathrooms! Owners have thought of everything necessary for comfort including the beds and linens. Would definitely stay here again. The house is GORGEOUS!! If Savannah didn’t have so much to do, I would be happy hanging out in the house. But it is in such a great area. From it’s cleanliness, beautiful decor, awesome amenities to it’s Perfect location, I highly recommend & would definitely stay here again. We had a blast and were only 1 block from the parade route. There is only one parking space, which was not a problem for us, as we didn’t need to drive anywhere until the day we checked out. It was very clean, and the decor and furnishings were well designed. The beds were incredibly comfortable! But be warned that it can be noisy outside in the evenings and the sound carries as if folks are sitting inside the home. We could hear detailed conversations just outside the windows and the sound travels up into the bedrooms, hence supplying sound machines in each room. The only criticism I would offer is that for what I paid, I would have expected higher quality hand soap and dish detergent for our use. It’s a small detail, but it is noticed. We loved the inside of this house. They had almost everything you could possibly need, even fans and sound machines. Those are a must for our children! I do wish they had maybe a couple boxes of tissues laying around. Also at checkout they ask for you to start the dishwasher and washing machine- but yet give you no dishwasher soap or laundry detergent. Overall this place was one of the nicest we have stayed at. The beds were very very comfortable, it was very clean and the decor was very nice.
