You're within a 10-minute drive of Kingston, NY, the 1st capital of New York State, which happens to have an impressive array of restaurants. Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and New Paltz are also popular destinations and are within a 15-minute drive while Woodstock is only 20 minutes away. All 4 places have lots of exciting restaurants that feature locally grown ingredients and farm-to-table cooking. Between those nearby towns and Saugerties, you'll be busy eating out, visiting local farms and vineyards and enjoying other activities such as hiking, shopping, horse-back riding, golfing, playing tennis, boating, sunbathing and having all sorts of fun. Guests to the equestrian Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS) events in the summer will find the house conveniently located in the same town of Saugerties as the shows themselves. The breathtaking Kaaterskill Waterfalls are in the vicinity as is the spectacular Overlook Mountain - both famous hiking & bird-watching destinations. Saugerties Lighthouse is nearby and is renown for its beauty, with a trail excellent for bird-watching leading up to it. The log cabin was roomy, very clean and extremely well equiped with anything we could possibly need to prepare meals and enjoy our stay. Yuri said his motto is " you only need to bring your toothbrush". He is absolutely correct! Hopefully we will be able to return for another wonderful family vacation. ##### Joanne C. The house and surrounding gardens were beautiful, Yuri communicated with a couple of times to be sure everything was going well, and the kitchen was just amazing! Our only suggestion for improvement - closets were pretty scarce, so some racks for hanging clothes in the bedrooms would be helpful. There was plenty of drawer space, an abundance, of towels, plenty of paper products and bath supplies, but some added hanging areas would be great. But overall, it was just a pictured! The first thing that caught our eye was the beautifully lit Christmas tree, glowing through the windows! It immediately set the tone creating a warm and festive atmosphere that made our Christmas family vacation feel extra special.From the moment we arrived, the cabin felt incredibly comfortable and cozy. Everything was spotless, well organized, and clearly cared for with great attention to detail. The kitchen was stunning and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy meals together. The bedding was comfortable and the bathrooms were fully stocked with towels and essentials making our stay feel effortless. INCREDIBLE property!! There were 16 of us and we fit perfectly. The house is decked out with everything you need: blankets, pillows, towels, all the kitchen appliances you could imagine etc. Super cute to many towns like Woodstock, Hunter, Kingston, Hudson. Yuri, the host, is amazing. Was very accommodating and super responsive. He set out extra beds for us to make sure we were all comfortable and would respond within minutes when we needed help. It was immaculately clean, and very spacious for our group. (Could easily accommodate more, with cots in the closets and even a yurt in the yard). We stayed cozy with the wood stove and fire pit. Most of us were keeping up with work/school and we had no problems with Wifi. We have rented a lot of vacation homes but this one probably had the best kitchen we've encountered - lots of space, top-level new appliances, everything you could want for Thanksgiving or anytime. We had never visited the Hudson River Valley before and found it very charming, even in a pandemic and even in the off-season. There are beautiful historic towns all around, lots of farms and local food, and plenty of hiking trails. Yuri was a very knowledgeable and responsive host. Just like the hosts! Yuri and his wife welcomed this group of breast cancer survivors who all live life with less than 2 breasts, as if we were family. No request was unreasonable or met with any hesitation. The property is magnificent with an abundance of flowers and countless hummingbirds. The splendor of the property is mirrored by the beauty of the house on the inside. It is large house and was accommodating for our big group but it gives the feeling of being small and cozy. As a group we have had many experiences with house rentals and NONE have been as gracious and helpful as Yuri. We will be coming back! ##### jo a. What a wonderful place for relaxing and gathering! Our family enjoyed every moment! A huge, very well appointed pro kitchen with high end accessories dishes, glassware, and cutlery, make cooking and entertaining a pleasure. Gorgeous uncluttered decor, loads of comfy seating, and an excellent entertainment system allow you to relax and enjoy. Beautiful bathrooms with walk in showers, quality soaps , and an excellent soaking tub in the master bath. Lovely grounds, lots of outdoor seating and a yurt for chilling out! Everything is so tastefully done. Our host Yuri has been wonderful - friendly, accommodating, and communicative. He gave us excellent recommendations for local resources and ideas how to best utilize the home. Many thanks Yuri! Area highlights include the wonderful Opus 40, Woodstock, and Bread Alone. There are many wonderful restaurants and shops within a short drive. Instacart and Door Dash can help with most food and beverage needs so you can maximize the time you spend at this superb accommodation. All in all - highest recommendations for home and host. Our stay was absolutely perfect! We had a group of 15 for my Bachelorette party and had plenty of space. Yuri's communication was detailed and quick. The house is just as beautiful and clean as it looks in the pictures and had every amenity you could need. We all said we want to come back again! I highly recommend this property! The only recommendation I have for others renting here is to plan accordingly if using ride sharing services. We spent a night out in Woodstock and found that after 11pm there were not many cars available. We used a local taxi service to bring us back.
