The historic Saugatuck Chain Ferry, takes you across the Kalamazoo River and drops you at the foot of some wonderful hiking trails and Mt. Baldy, is about a 15 minute walk. Fares are $2/person each way. The Interurban is a on call public transportation service that services Saugatuck/Douglas/Fennville. Simply call the number and request a pickup and drop off location. $1 fares each way! The condo was great for our family. We loved the living room space and outdoor table. The location to Saugatuck is amazing. We walked everywhere and loved the spot so much. We had one issue- not the owners fault- and the communication was very quick and helpful. (Something fell off a wall in the middle of the night!)Our only complaint was the mattress in the bigger bedroom. I’ve never felt a harder mattress. We loved the location of the condo. The pool was also great. The condo itself was perfect size. Some cons: -TV was hit or miss if it would work -Toaster was not working properly -Seemed as though the whole condo could use a deep clean. Floors seemed very dirty- socks were black from walking around. Lots of spider webs. Seems as though there was an ant infestation in the kitchen. Couch also seemed like it could use a good cleaning or be replaced all together. -Outdoor patio was not swept or table wiped down. All in all, we had a great time. The walkability of the condo to town is amazing. The pool also seemed very clean and was never busy. I just wanted to point out some of the cleanliness issues with the condo. Thank you! We were there for the 4th of July and parade goes right by the house which was nice. Big backyard as well. House itself could use some upgrades to furniture, but everything worked fine (grill, ac, dishwasher, washer/dryer), plenty of towels, trash bags, dish washer pods, etc. so had everything we needed.
