RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.

Good short getaway

Our unit was pretty dated and smaller than most hotel rms we stay in, but right on the gulf and a heated pool when it was chilly made it a great choice for a short getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The staff were awesome and responsive to any problems. The pool is nice and well maintained. This is a small complex so the pool is very seldom busy. There are 2 grills next to the pool to use to cook. The complex is right on the beach which is very beautiful. There are several beach lounge chairs at the complex to use. The unit we stayed in only has 2 rooms a bathroom and an open room that contains the bed, small dining table, and a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. Only 1 window which faces the parking lot. The unit was clean and the bed is comfortable but understand you can easily hear through the walls. There is a shared laundry area at the complex which takes quarters. The area around the complex is nice and several places to eat and shop are nearby. This is the 2 nd time staying at this location and have been pleased both times.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Silver Sands Resort is a lovely area to rent for a vacation get away. We loved the pool and the beach so very much! We will stay here again; but, next time we will rent a larger apartment. #251A is very small; and, we have decided next time we need a kitchen for sure! The walls in this unit are also very thin. We could hear our neighbors all the time. Otherwise, though, this area is absolutely the best location! The beach is gorgeous; and, we were close to Anna Maria and St. Armand's. We love Silver Sands and we will reserve again for sure!!

Then we received a phone call about 11pm regarding a family emergency. We left to drive back to michigan the following morning. Did not stay for the rest of our trip. I am disappointed that we can not get any compensation for this unfortunate situation.

Enjoying LBK

The Sliver Sands was a great place to stay. I had other family members on LBK so we would sleep and shower in our room and then spend the day with family. I would only like to see a lighted sign out front. I drove by the property several evenings because the Silver Sands sign wasn't visible at night.

Silver Sands was such an amazing place to stay. Pool and Ocean steps away...I've personally never seen beauty like this shy of going to an Island in the Caribbean. The staff was amazing...Margaret...YOU were amazing!! The people staying there were super friendly...as were the locals. Super quiet, relaxing...just what I needed for my body and soul!! Will def be returning whenever I can!! A++++++++

It was a great little place. Perfect locations, with just enough amenities

The unit I stayed in had a few little glitches. The shower door was off the track, and little things like that. But maintenance was quick to offer to fix it. It didn't bother me, though, and the location was just perfect. The people were lovely too.I am looking forward to retuning. Its a great place, for the price, its really fabulous.

This particular unit is tiny; just enough room for a double bed. There is a fridge and microwave, but no sink so actually cooking would be a challenge. One window--unopenable-- facing the parking lot. Someone has made a nice effort to decorate the room. The larger property has very nice beach access and the other units appear more attractive.

Good for the price.

We hadn't stayed on Longboat Key before. Not a big fan of that island. The hotel was old but very clean. The room was very small and the table and chairs in the room should be thrown out. A bit of money would make the place 100% better, but for what it was it wasn't bad. The bed was very uncomfortable sadly, but that's hotels sometimes. The staff was very nice and quick to fix issues.

Short on a few thing

Only had 1 fork. Would of been nice to have some plastic glasses for poolside refreshments. Beach longers were nice but umbrellas were only available at the office and the cheap. I got a new one from the office but it broke. Would have been nice if the umbrellas were commercial grade and positioned on the beach. Overall, we had a very nice stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I hear that all the downstairs rentals have been updated because of the hurricane damage. The room that I stayed in really needs updating. The shower doors kept coming off the track (maybe the track needed to be cleaned). All the fixtures in the bathroom were rusty. The one chair at the table is so old and rickety, we were afraid to sit in it. The ceiling fan needs a screw in one of the blades because it was clacking. The ceiling fan really is too big for that room and hanging way too low. Dave had to walk around it because it is too low and would hit his head on it. I also had to buy hangers to hang up our clothes. We swept every day, but there was no dust pan to sweep it into. The staff was very nice, and the cleaning people were accommodating. It was nice that the beach chairs weren't locked up this year and were available when we arrived at the beach in the morning. I wouldn't pick this particular room again, but it is a nice place to stay.
