2/10 Terrible

"Stayed 2 nights end of May and was disappointed. The beach setup was not as advertised in the photos and appeared unprepared for the season. Basic amenities were lacking. Beach towels were not available at reasonable hours, and even after being told they would be brought out, they never were. Seating by the beach had no proper padding, and what was available was very limited and dirty. Visible trash everywhere along the shoreline area. People kept coming down looking for a spot and had to go back up because all there was, was wood bases. Service was inconsistent and at times frustrating. In multiple instances, staff did not follow through — including long waits for simple things like a menu or coffee. One incident at the beach stood out: I ordered drinks and food, added additional drinks for guests at a nearby table, and paid the full bill (~4,600 lek) plus a tip (6,000 lek total). The drinks ordered for the other guests were never delivered and he disappeared. When I followed up the next day with the server, he gave a different explanation than what was actually ordered and what the guests themselves confirmed. Basically he pocketed ~3,200 lek; it’s not the amount but the principle. I would strongly recommend not paying until all ordered items have actually been received. Overall, the service and maintenance did not meet expectations, and the experience felt disorganized and unreliable throughout the stay."

"One of the most special aspects of Orchids is the people! They were all so friendly and accommodating. A special mention to Sidrit, who was amazing! Nothing was too much trouble. He was so chatty and friendly! The next best thing is the location! It is right on the beachfront. Going to sleep with the sound of the sea was so lovely. It is a couple of miles out of the centre but that made it quieter, which is what we wanted. A restaurant nearly called Sophra was incredible - highly recommended! The outdoor space was beautiful- we were there in May and we don’t think the season starts until June, so they were setting up their little beach and sun loungers while we were there. There was a small public beach just a couple of minutes walk away too (a very stony beach). Our room was lovely - simple but very nice and very clean. There was a kettle but no cups or tea, but we asked for them which was no problem. The breakfast was again simple, but tasty and relaxed. We didn’t eat here in the evening but had their cocktails, which were delicious, especially when watching the stunning sunset! We would highly recommend Orchids. The pictures are not all accurate (the cabanas on the decking are not in use) but that doesn’t take away the beauty of it."

"The hotel was amazing, extremely clean and the breakfast was lovely. No bar at the pool area but you can order using a QR code and drinks were brought up, only thing missing for me was pool bar snacks. Staff were friendly and welcoming, always there to help, would definitely stay again. If you are booking a sea view, make sure its on the 3rd floor and above as there are two massive trees in front of the hotel, unfortunately I wasn't able to change my room."

"Beautiful hotel and my room was 99% perfect. I had read a few reviews that their AC hadn’t worked - mine didn’t either. Truly the only thing amiss is the AC, everything else was terrific. The view from the room is gorgeous and the promenade started across the street. My tours picked me up at the hotel because of its easy location. Grocery store next door, restaurants everywhere. The staff, amazing. If you take the bus back to Tirana, the front desk will call to reserve you a seat - which my bus was 100% full, was so happy they had done that for me!"
