Fenomenal

Fenomenal, un ambiente muy acogedor y tranquilo, esta al lado del aeropuerto pero direccion al mar y aun asi los aviones no molestan, no se escucha nada. Todo muy agradable, la piscina tranquila y muy bonita. Nosotros alquilamos un ATV y lo aparcábamos dentro, pero aún asi, a 2 minutos andando tienes una parada de minibús, y nada más salir del hotel tienes una cafetería y un supermercado donde puedes comprar todo lo que necesites. Sensación muy familiar al estar ahí, y sobre todo, con Michael, que trabaja en recepción el que se lleva la puntuación de un 11/10.

Une nuit à Monolithia

Ayant eu un problème de vol d’avion, je suis venu passer une nuit à Monolithia pour sa proximité avec l’aéroport. Néanmoins, il est explicité qu’il y a une salle de sport et une navette pour l’aéroport à 7.50€. Mais rien de tout ça, si ce n’est un taxi à 20€ pour même pas 5 minutes de course.

We stayed here for 1 night close to airport before moving onto our main stay hotel. The hotel was very clean and reception was wonderful. Interior of the hotel room could do with modernising but for 1 night was great. The grounds where lovely.

Ampio locale con letto e cucina, con spazio esterno con tavolo. Semplice e tutto sommato curato. Bagno sufficiente. Piscina esterna piccola ma sufficiente. Nel complesso location sufficiente, personale gentile, un po'fuori mano ma con lo scooter si va ovunque.

Casa carina, ma non come ci aspettavamo

L' appartamento di per se è carino. Grande, ma non quanto sembra dalle foto. Avevamo richiesto un letto matrimoniale e al nostro arrivo la ragazza che gestiva le camere ha sbagliato la stanza, il giorno dopo ne abbiamo cambiata un'altra, ma ancora niente letto matrimoniale (e abbiamo lasciato perdere senno dovevamo ricambiare altre stanze). Poi avevamo richiesto il check-in prima, ma alla fine è andato per le lunghe (troppo). Ci sono solo pentole e zero padelle, cucina poco attrezzata. Però nell'insieme molto elegante e pulito (ci ritornerei). C'è una spiaggia libera a due passi da li, molto tranquilla. Consiglio di prendervi uno scooter, perchè a piedi è difficile girare l'isola. Città consigliate (kamari per la vita notturna e spiagge, Perissa il top delle spiagge, Fira e Oia ovviamente, Pyrgos molto carina, la spiaggia rossa e bianca non ve le consiglio molto.) Nell'insieme abbiamo trascorso un ottima vacanza, peccato per le piccole incomprensioni all'inizio che ci hanno reso un po' nervosi. (Non accontentatevi dei minimarket che hanno prezzi vertiginosi, cercate piuttosto grandi supermercati). La piscina della struttura è piccolina, ma molto bella, peccato che sia un po' sporca. (Nell'appartamento c'è tutto l'indispensabile). Nel sito c'è scritto che hanno una palestra, non l'abbiamo vista sinceramente.

Poor location & expensive cost to go airport.

Staff was kind and their property was also nice. But when we ask to call airport shuttle bus from airport to hotel or taxi to go Fira area, the staff call that and always we had to pay 20 euros each even though in their reservation page there was written 7.5 euors. It's very expensive. When I heard from local friend about the cost from airport to monolithia hotel if the taxi has meter machine, it costs only 5 euros. We were very disappointed about that cost and the staff's services. And this hotel is close to the airport but it is located behind the airport. So there was only 2 options. One is that you should go there by your foot and it will take about 1hours. Second is that you should take taxi or shuttle bus and you should pay around 20 euros. There was no public transportation even bus... So when you want to go Fira, you should call the taxi and it will be expensive. Very poor hotel if you don't have a car.

Classic Appartment

Das Zimmer ist groß und es gibt noch eine kleine Küche. Die Zimmer waren sauber und wurden jeden Tag geputzt. Das Personal war freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Um die Anlage ist so wenig Bebauung, dass man einen weiten Blick hat, entweder über Weinfelder, zu den Bergen oder zum Meer. Es liegt ein kleiner Supermarkt am Weg zur Anlage, so dass man sich einfach alles fürs Frühstück kaufen konnte. Der Strand liegt nur wenige 100m entfernt und es waren nur wenige Menschen am Strand zu sehen. Eine Bushaltestelle liegt auch nur wenige 100m entfernt, es ist allerdings schwer feststellbar, wann die Busse fahren. Offiziell scheinen es nur 5 Zeiten am Tag zu geben. Durch die Nähe zum Flughafen hört man natürlich Starts und Landungen. Der Fluglärm war aber noch erträglich und nicht lauter als in Kamari. Dafür gab es keinen Lärm von Autos etc. Der Pool war groß genug, um darin auch einige Züge schwimmen zu können, allerdings ist er ungeheitzt, was im Sommer wohl kein Nachteil sein wird. Als wir ende Mai dort waren war das Wasser kühl aber noch ok. Als Besonderheit gab es im Zimmer ein Smartphone, mit dem man auch außerhalb der Anlage kostenlos Sufen und Telefonieren konnte.

Don't use as a brief stay after flying in.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at this hotel. The actual room is basic as advertised and was clean. We came in late from the airport and thought staying somewhere close by over night would be nice. The transportation service the hotel staff instructed us to use never showed up to the airport, we were the last people there and called the hotel at least 3 times and still no one came. So after paying 20 euro for transportation that never showed up, we had to pay 15 more for a taxi. Georgia was at the hotel when we got in, she was very nice and apologized but said nothing could be done to reemburse us. It was a really frustrating start to our time in Santorini, we should have just gone straight to Oia.

Quite, peaceful and relaxing.

My husband, 7 year old son and I stayed at this location for one night because it was close proximity to the airport. The room was very spacious and the facilities were beautiful (to include the pool). Even with it being close to the airport we were never bothered by the noise from the airport. Our driver had a hard time locating it, but it seemed well marked when we arrived. There is a small store within a very short walk from the rooms. The building seems to stand by itself with nothing of note around it. However, if I were there to "get away from it all" this is the spot!! Very nice facility, quite and away from it all. For us that was a negative however. The transfer they utilize costs 20 euro to the airport (about 1 mile away). You would need to rent a car if you chose this as your accommodations.

Great pit stop before Fira!

We got in at 1 a.m. but luckily the manager had no problem driving down on his scooter to check us in. Very friendly and arranged a taxi for us as well the next morning. Mainly chose the hotel due to its proximity to the airport after getting in so late. It was nice inside with kitchen and separate bedroom. Only spent the night and then headed to Fira.

Nice and quiet apartment close to the beach

Windmill is special, but beds are not so comfortable, nice to sit outside, good pool, close to beach. To explore the surrounding you need a car.

Petite résidence calme et bien située

Hôtel très bien gèré, que ce soit par le manager, Harris, toujours disponible et aidant en ce qui concerne location de voiture, réservation d'excursion, conseils sur l'île, qu'en ce qui concerne la propeté ( ménage tous les jours, draps, serviettes changés régulièrement, appartement très propre). Piscine nickel et bien apréciée. Situation centrale, véhicule indispensable si on veut voir tout Santorin. La plage accessible à pieds, mais pas exceptionnelle (en même temps si on va à Santorin pour la plage, mieux vaut choisir une autre île !) Une inquiétude quant à la proximité de l'aéroport mais finalement pas très gênant.

Monolithia tranquility

Really loved this laid backed hotel in the Monalithia area. Hotel is a short 4 minute walk from the black beach, footsteps from a market. And there are two tavernas in the area within walking distance. The service was phenomenal, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The airport is like a short 7 minute drive away. I really enjoyed my time here it was so relaxing.
