Very cool hotel! If you want to treat yourself after completing the Camino, this is the place. Beautiful rooms bordering on luxurious, and a very welcoming and helpful staff. The pool is small but pleasant, although indoors. A short walk to the cathedral, and not much further to all the shopping and dining. A grand old building all around.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel San Francisco Monumento. Everything about our experience was excellent. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained, but what really makes this hotel special is the building itself. You genuinely feel as though you are staying inside a piece of history, surrounded by centuries of character and architecture. We absolutely loved that feeling. Staying in such a beautiful historic place was one of the highlights of our time in Santiago de Compostela and made the experience much more memorable than staying in a typical modern hotel. The staff were also extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and we really enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and a place we would happily stay at again.

Staff helpful at front desk. Bar staff often not present, but once they arrived, they were very helpful — but need to staff more for busy times! Since it’s an old property, they need to better mark steps and other tripping hazards so people don’t fall.

Historical hotel in the heart of Santiago de Compostela, just a block away from the cathedral. It feels like you are using a (well-kept and comfortable) museum as lodging. The Comedor Monumental was exactly that, monumental and artsy. Fresh and varied breakfast, included in the price. Staff very courteous and accommodating. Excellent and memorable hotel!
