Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum

The property was modern, clean & convenient. The refrigerator was the best one EVER in a hotel. The A/C was really loud. We could hear the neighbors A/C, too, which was disturbing to sleep. The polka dot tile in the bathroom was cool, but somewhat blinding. Since there’s no one on staff, you can’t easily request more towels, etc. I’d say that it was a little pricey for what was offered.

Sideways Inn It's okay for the price, but manage your expectations Stayed here on a trip to Solvang and it was fine for what we paid, though I expected a little more. The rooms could use an update, they feel dated rather than light and modern. The biggest issue was the beds, which were hard as a rock and not great if you're hoping for a good night's sleep. Noise is also something to know about. There were kids playing outside late into the night and you can hear pretty much everything from inside the room. On the plus side, the location is solid if Solvang is your destination. Just be aware that if a comfortable bed and a quiet, restful stay are priorities for you, this place feels a bit run down and might not be the right fit.
