When I went searching for a hotel in Puerto it was important to me to find a hotel with an on-site restaurant, and easy access to the beach front ("easy access" does not have to mean on the beach.)
The listing for this hotel clearly stated that there was a restaurant on site, and showed a number of photos of a small but nice looking restaurant. It also says that the hotel is a 6 minute walk to the beach.
Bottom line...NO operating restaurant on site, and the 6 minute walk to the beach includes having to dodge 4 lanes of traffic with NO crosswalks (after that the trip to the beach gets no easier, and ends at the far end of the beach with nothing but sand dunes....
Also, the sliding glass patio door to my balcony had cracks running from top to bottom and fully from one edge to the other. I don't care what country you're in, this is dangerous.
When I talked to the hotel mgr I was told there had been a restaurant, but no more and after a conversation with her and Expedia there was agreement all around that I deserved a refund. I checked out after just one night, and have yet to receive any of the agreed upon refund.
I want to note that I've been travelin in Mexico for 20 years, and you always have to expect a surprise along the way, but this was nothing more then purposeful deception, no traveler deserves that...
Note that the hotel has now updated it's listing on Expedia, but beware of other potential surprises....
