We stayed in this lovely split level in August and the home was perfect in so many ways. We loved the outdoor patios so much, we spent a lot of time out there visiting and especially enjoyed the lighted Japanese lanterns and lights scattered throughout the gardens. Most of the furniture, appliances and extras look brand new, like the place has just been built and you're the first guests. Beds were super comfortable with high end linens and roomy space for luggage. The kitchen was fairly well stocked except for a nonstick egg skillet and working ice maker. We ate several meals there. Banyon was a super host and brought us warm muffins, chipoltle butter and sparkling water for settling in after a long day of traveling. Located just a very short drive to the plaza (9 minutes?) and there isn't enough to say about Santa Fe. We spent one half day at the Ten Thousand Waves Spa perhaps 12 minutes from the house by car and had lovely panoramic views driving into the mountains up Artist's Road past the spa toward the ski resort (15 mile trek). Had marvelous meals in the La Fonda restaurant, the 10,000 Waves Restaurant and the cafe inside Sena Plaza. We bought drop dead gorgeous Chanel shawls at Zanadu's in the interior courtyard of Sena Plaza. All in all a wonderful time. If the altitude is giving you any fatigue, go to the Oxygen Spa off the plaza for a few minutes ($1 per minute) of O2.
If you are a light sleeper, choose the downstairs spacious queen bedroom. The full bath w shower will be up 1/2 level, but easy to manage. The other two bedrooms are upstairs and share a large bath with tub/shower. The master king bedroom is huge and lovely. The nearby AC makes some noise but if you turn it up it won't run much at night and the temp outside in the evening is cool even in August. The main level hallway lights, if turned on at night, will indirectly shine into the king bedroom's upper open windows. We solved this by having our friends use flashlights if they get up at night or turn on the kitchen or living room lights instead of the hall lights. An easy fix considering how many extras and wonderful pluses this house offers. Can't wait to come back next year.
