Be one of the first to stay in this magnificent two-bedroom home (plus office w/ double pullout sofa) with panoramic views of the Sangre to Cristo Mountains. The home has been recently remodeled and purchased by new owners, who have furnished the home to perfection. The location is in Valle del Sol, just a short 10-minute walk to the Plaza and just adjacent to the Fort Marcy Complex with park, pool, tennis and pickleball courts, as well as classes. Inexpensive day passes are available. It’s also close to the road to the ski area. Upon entering you will notice the grand living room/dining room with spectacular mountain views beyond. The living room has a wood-burning fireplace and large Smart TV with streaming. The dining table comfortably seats six. Off the living room is a covered portal with colorful furnishings. It includes outdoor dining plus a lounge area, which is shaded most of the day. You will spend most of your time out here enjoying the view, reading a book, or sipping some wine…the ultimate in relaxation. There is also a mountain view from the kitchen and dinette windows. The kitchen has all amenities for cooking on those days you’re not enjoying one of Santa Fe’s many quaint restaurants. All new appliances will make cooking more enjoyable. Adjacent is a dinette area. This main floor has a beautifully decorated queen guest room. There is a bathroom for guests that includes a shower (no tub). Up a half a flight of stairs is the large king master bedroom, generous closet, and ensuite bathroom. You will enjoy a private sitting area, as well. There is a Smart TV with streaming. The bathroom is amazing…with soaking tub, shower, and double sink. There is an enclosed area off the master bedroom with a double pullout sofa for extra guests or children and desk where you may work and enjoy western/sunset views. There are no shades between the MBR and office. Amenities include a double garage, washer and dryer, all linens, 2 Smart TV’s, WIFI (100 mbps download), and central air conditioning. There is also some off-street parking. We felt lucky to have been able to stay in beautiful Casa Turquesa. The photos of the views don’t do it justice: we were amazed day after day at the ever-changing magnificence of the mountains. The house was perfect for us: comfortable, well-appointed (be sure to check supplies before you buy groceries as almost everything you could need is probably already there). The details of the home are carefully thought out and exactly how we needed them to be: the master suite is comfortable and private with a small office, the guest suite is smaller but similarly comfortable. If I had one complaint it’s that the mattress in the master is foam, which I find too hot. The extended outdoor space felt like outdoor rooms; every hour of every day there was somewhere comfortable to sit or lie, sunny or shady depending on our mood or preference. The home is located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo range, in a quiet development less than a mile north of the Plaza. It’s an easy 20 minute walk to town, which I did most days we were there. Within an hour and-a-half’s drive we were able to visit pueblos, historic sites, national parks, warm mineral springs, interesting hikes of varying difficulty, and, of course Taos and Albuquerque.
