This beautifully appointed cottage features a master bedroom with a queen bed, a guest bedroom with two twin beds and a pullout sofa, a second guest bedroom with a queen bed, a spacious kitchen and dining area, and a private porch, this cottage is ideal for large parties. Festooned with gorgeous palm trees and an ever present ocean breeze, Palmview Inn has been the choice of many travelers year after year. The Space: Palm Retreat is one of 6 cottages within the historic Palmview of Sanibel, each one beautifully appointed with a distinct theme. The Palmview Inn offers vibrant fully equipped cottages within walking distance to Sanibel’s famous shelling beaches and the Gulf of Mexico. Complimentary adult bikes and beach equipment are provided to explore the nearby bike paths, or to enjoy a day at the beach full of fun under the sun. This cottage can comfortably accommodate a party of 10 and is ideal for larger groups. We are pet friendly for up to two dogs up to 50lbs each. If you will be traveling with pets, please notify us after confirming your booking so that we can update your reservation accordingly. Per pet fee of $75 will apply. The Neighborhood: The cottage is situated on the desirable East End of Sanibel, which is equidistant to almost every sought after beach on Sanibel. You will be near restaurants, shopping, and activity, while still far enough removed to be reminded that you are on vacation and provided ample opportunity to socially distance away from the hustle bustle that can characterize island life. This location is also advantageous in that it provides quick on and off access to the causeway, as to allow guests a quick commute into and from Fort Myers without having to contest with seasonal traffic. Other Things to Note: Guests must complete rental agreement prior to the stay A non-refundable cancellation fee of $100 will apply for reservations cancelled prior to the cancellation policy window. Very spacious and newly decorated. water pressure was really low in the shower and refrigerator smelled awful fishy the entire time, probably from last renters. I didn't see management and the staff on site didn't speak English when we needed something. We rented golf carts from Sanibel carts which I recommend, it made it easier to drive and drop our stuff off at the beach since parking around that area is not allowed unless you have a special passes. The location is great as well, about a 5-8 minute walk to beach. Sanibel is VERY bicycle friendly, I just wish they had a few more on property. The beds are insanely uncomfortable and there is exactly one pillow per person. The kitchen is missing some fundamental items I wish I knew ahead of time such as pots and oven mitts. There is zero consumables which is fine but be sure to bring your own oil, spices, etc. I would have dropped one more star but they are still recovering from hurricane Ian and it is clear they are working hard to make the property nicer. Would also suggest they spray for no-see-ums. as Floridians we are used to them but they were beyond relentless on property. Communication from Rosen folks was 100% 5\*! The cottage was very spacious for the four of us and was exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable. We ate breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner in the cottage during our 3 days on Sanibel, and the only recommendation would be for our host to have some very simple staples available such as aluminum foil and/or plastic wrap or plastic bags for those who want to cook their meals there and have leftovers. Also maybe some staples such as olive oil/cooking oil, ketchup and mustard. But this cottage was in a great location, you can walk to the beach and you are a short ride away from almost everything.
