Charming, cozy hotel with character. The Kong Carl is conveniently located near the Sandefjord town center, an easy walk from the train station. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The room was as described, complete with mini-fridge and hot water kettle, and both the interior and exterior of the hotel have old-world charm and character. The hotel restaurant is convenient and delicious, with a well-stocked breakfast buffet and superb dinner menu. Walking distance to tasty coffee shops, the Hvaltorvet shopping mall, and the waterfront, among other things. A lovely stay—tusen takk!
Very friendly staff, excellent choice for breakfast.
Hotel is quite dated but has a character and everything is clean and works ok.
Very small bathroom and tiny sink
i liked everything about this hotel
the rooms were stunning, the hotel corridors were quirky with art, the breakfast was top notch, the staff were very nice
This hotel was well located in the city but a street or two back from the main area meaning it wasn’t too busy or loud. That said, it was still very easy to walk around the city and get to public transport options. The staff were friendly and helpful finding me things to do and translating different options for me. My room was pretty big compared to what I’ve had previously on my trip but was also comfortable and clean. The history of the house was also a main point for me. It was nice to walk around and look at original photos/paintings and see historic documents was pretty cool.
This was a last minute change of hotel. The room was lovely and spacious. The bed and sofa were all really comfortable. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly, the lady on reception on departure helped us to call a taxi using the tablet.
Lovely well kept old hotel in a convenient location about four to six? blocks from bus station. We were able to walk (but cabs were available) because the weather was cold but it had not been snowing for several weeks in late February. No elevators so stairs may be a challenge with luggage. Restaurant looked busy and good but we did not eat at the hotel due to other plans.

Normal standard - normal expensive Norway
The place was perfectly fine. Nothing completely amazing, nothing bad. Standard Norwegian prices.
The breakfast was fabulous! There were no other guests eating for the last hour of service- and there was a huge buffet of food- seems like a lot probably goes to waste unfortunately. Or hopefully staff get to eat! :)
