The pool was advertised, but I was faintly hoping that it might be big enough to do laps, even short ones. It turns out that a round pool doesn't lend itself to that. On the other hand, something not mentioned in the listing is a beautiful mangrove lagoon a 3 minute walk from the house that was plenty big enough to get a good swim in. The rocks down the beach from the house were absolutely lovely, full of different kinds of creatures in unexpected spaces and even a "secret" pool that stays full of water even when the tide is out. The ocean in front of the house felt too wild for most of us to play in the waves, but that very individual.The most awesome thing about the house was the kitchen and just the space that allowed my wife and I to host her mom and some of the other members of her family. My mother-in-law is severely limited in terms of mobility and the ground floor bedroom and bathroom made it possible for her to participate.We think that there are other families with similar needs, and we would propose to Harold that he and his crew install grab bars in the bathroom, and either install a higher toilet, or perhaps have available an extension to raise the toilet. The shower also wasn't easy to access and we wonder if the edge could be reduced to make it more user-friendly. These are brainstorming ideas!We are already thinking of how to save enough to do another trip, perhaps inviting members of my family from the States.
