The stay was very good , hotel was quite , due to the time of the year. Very helpful with local information that i needed in connection with my business trip. choice of breakfast food was good. rooms clean .

Disappointing stay - Hotel Traina
Disappointing. Breakfast AWFUL. Breakfast room dreadful, conference room. You have the potential to have breakfast on the roof in a covered area with a view … why not use it? Breakfast waiter - miserable! Hot food was cold and greasy. Choice was limited. Hotel foyer and corridors pleasant. Hotel room very dated. Terrace awful (bearing in mind you pay extra). Terrace should have parasol and loungers as minimum and safety glass in between terraces should not be cracked - this gave an unkept appearance. On the one and only plus side, Reception staff were pleasant and (American/Canadian night porter was a delight!).

(4th floor) I have stayed at the Traina on a number of occasions. It is usually a very good hotel. On this occasion the swimming pool had been drained for maintenance and I wasn’t notified by this which was disappointing. The room French doors were very difficult to open and close and two freestanding lamps weren’t working. Everything else was to the normal high standard.

Really lovely little hotel
The staff couldn’t have done more for us. We had such a mare when we arrived to San Pedro, leaving keys to our house back in the UK and having to book a last minute hotel. Thankfully we relaxed as soon as we stepped foot into Traíña. Reception staff were lovely. Allowed us to check in early, upgraded our room to a huge terrace, explained where everything was and how it all works. Made us laugh and feel so much better about our situation! Rooms were super clean and spacious, friendly housekeepers in the morning, aircon units were clean and refreshing, fresh towels every morning. Small fridge in the room to hold your waters. €10 deposit per pool towel which they allow you to take to the beach as well. Small rooftop pool with sun loungers - this was a lovely view of San Pedro! Friendly evening reception staff who are always happy to chat. Oh and location! Surrounded by restaurants, 15min walk to mar menor and salt lakes, small fairground at the bottom of the road with evening markets. Spoilt for choice in terms of bars, cafes and restaurants. Overall we would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area, they couldn’t do enough for us and made us feel so welcome. Thank you!

It was hard to find fault with the hotel, which is very clean with friendly staff. Our (rear) room was spacious, the large bed was very comfortable with a good-sized panoramic sunny balcony. Very good sized bathroom with bath/shower, excellent water pressure and hot water always available. Breakfast cereals could be improved upon but there was a good range of other hot and cold items to choose from. The roof-top (unheated) pool is open all year, and offers panoramic views around the area. The sun loungers need renewing, but this could be on-going maintenance for the summer months. Parking was quite expensive at €8 per day for the hotel underground car park and a discounted rate for staying longer at the hotel could be offered at €5 per day. There is always street parking available which is safe and free. Restaurants are limited in the immediate area within 10-15 minutes walk, but are available further afield.

This place was fantastic for customer service. They really went out of the way to be helpful. They insisted we moved to a nicer room!!! Nice pool on the roof but uncomfortable sun beds and out of season so no covers available. Breakfast is not worth it, go down to the local panaderia instead. Fabulous coffee and amazing staff made it a great stay. Rooms are basic but comfortable. It's not a 4 star but very clean, great staff and good location

A great hotel
We initially were going to stay only for one night at this hotel, but it was so good we stayed for a second night! There is a hotel carpark, €8 per night, but we had no problem getting a place to park outside on the street. Check-in was easy - we can speak some Spanish, but the receptionist also spoke English. We had a very good room with a small balcony which got the morning sunshine. The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable. Everything was very clean. The shower had great water pressure. There was a fridge in the room, and a small safe which was opened by the door card. We didn't eat lunch or dinner in the hotel, but the menus were extensive. Breakfast perhaps could have been a bit more adventurous. Around the hotel are many bars and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay here!

Well received at the hotel but had to phone reception at 1am to complain of the noise on our floor the person on reception rectified the matter.

The location was perfect for us are we were there for Pinatar Cup, the walk was a good one but manageable on a daily basis. The room was ok and the fridge was a real positive. TV was small and had BBC London and no other English channels, beds were very comfortable but pillows were hard. Breakfast was ok, not much variety as the same everyday was out and in other hotels tends to be some changes especially at the weekend. Reception staff friendly and very helpful, couldn’t asked for them to be more helpful. Pool was tiny and freezing but perhaps the wind in the summer would be perfect but not in March. Not a 4 star hotel but a very pleasant 3 if you were asking me!

This is our second time to stay in the Traina and found it delightful. Lovely friendly and helpful staff, especially Veronica - a gem. We loved the roof top terrace experience and the location is perfect, within an easy walk to most amenities in the area. This is what hospitality should be like.

good hotel close to beach but within a quieter dis
The hotel and staff were good in particular the young guy on reception with dark hair and glasses.....It feels more like a business hotel. Lots of great places to eat around the hotel

I had a near perfect stay, A great room with terrace, comfy bed and good bathroom facilities. the only negatives were the bathroom towels were a bit small ( I have seen mentioned before), also it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. My stay was only spoilt on the last night. I think a group of footballers turned up there was shouting and whistling in the corridors which disturbed my sleep. All other nights were perfect.

Good hotel with excellent staff but I would rate it more 3 star than 4 star. Bedroom was a bit cramped with only one bedside table (insufficient room for two). Restaurant had good selection of food but eg no tablecloths, so overall felt slightly less than 4 star experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fish / meat cooked to order on show cooking hotplate. Hotel is about 7 minutes walk to the sea through pleasant back streets.

Good hotel and location with good facilities. Customer service was very good. 10-15 min stroll to the marina and beach. Plenty of places to eat, but food options not the best.

Dear sir, We regret your bad experience. Some of the hotel rooms were flooded because unfortunately our town and surrounding villages received the most rainfall of the last 30 years. The only thing we could do was move you to another room that had no problems with the water. If your disappointment is with hotels.com, I recommend you opine on their website about them, but I do not think it's the right thing to do a bad hotel valuation for a natural disaster ... Regards

Great hotel
We only stayed one night here, but would certainly go back to this hotel. Check-in was easy, the staff polite, easy to find and parking immediately outside it on the street. Lovely pool but was too cold mid October to venture in! The buffet breakfast was ok.

Short Break on the Mar menor
Nice hotel, suited our purpose exactly, was surprise to find full english breakfast on menu, would definatly visit again, however now we are aware would pay the additional €15 a night for room with balcony. Rooftop pool and bar excellent place to relax.

Quite stay in off season
As it is early in the season very few places open in April,still no crowds but finding some ware to eat was not easy.Hotel is good very clean with good sized rooms.The breakfast could be better not very hot so I heated up in the microwave.very little choice outside of the hotel.

Ideal hotel for the money
Our stay at the hotel traina was a birthday treat for my wife. The hotel is in a very central location and all amenities locally are easily reached. Some of the hotels facilities were not in use EG. the cafeteria but as this was being decorated then OK but it would have been good to know in at time of booking. Generally very good value for money and we would both use this hotel again.

Clean quiet, a great hotel.
Stayed for a week in September 2015 and found the hotel very good. We had a balcony and inside there was no noise from other rooms. The beds were very comfortable and the room nice and clean. The buffet breakfast was OK, with plenty of choice, eggs, bacon, cereal, meats, fruit etc. The beach is a 10 minute walk and there are sun beds for hire. We managed without a car and took the bus to Cartegena (well worth a visit), the stop is 100 yards or so right out of the hotel on the opposite side. There is an excellent Michelin restaurant 5 minute walk again right out of the hotel (Juan Mari).

Beautiful hotel and place
Beautiful place and beautiful hotel. The hotel decor and staff were a very high standard. The hotel was a short walk to a lovely beach with lots of cafe's and restaurants. Because it is not a very touristy place it was so relaxed there. I had a fantastic holiday.
