It turned out that this was a fraudlent booking. When we arrived at the front desk (from a different country) they had no reservation for us under my name, the confirmation code or anything. After many hours on the phone with VRBO admin I was able to get things sorted out through their VRBO Care program which we qualified for thank goodness. I had to re-book somewhere to stay myself but luckily we found a similar unit on Expedia. Great Resort
