First line beach garage and pool Tourist icon par excellence, La Manga has been for decades the mecca for lovers of white sands and crystal clear waters. Despite the large number of visitors it receives each year, this paradise still offers places to discover, surprises and lonely places. Only here you can bathe in two seas and only here you will be able to see the sun rise and set over the waters. Under the description of La Manga there is a curious orographic caprice that has been one of the symbols that best identify the Murcian coastline as a tourist enclave: a cord extended along approximately 24 km between Cabo de Palos and Punta del Mojón, which puts natural limits to the saltwater lagoon known as Mar Menor. In its origin, what is now known as La Manga del Mar Menor was a bay open to the Mediterranean; at its extremes, volcanic rocks were gradually acting as brakes of sand and sediment carried by marine currents, to form a sandy column of dunes and rugged vegetation and extensive beaches bathed by two seas, the Mediterranean and the Menor. La Manga is a narrow strip of land whose width varies between 200 m and 1 km and a half. It is cut by natural channels that maintain contact between the two seas; the so-called goles allow entry into the Mediterranean water in the lagoon. As such space, it remained virgin until the decade of the sixties, when the "discovery" of La Manga occurred as a tourist enclave, undergoing a transformation with the urbanization of the area and the construction of tourist infrastructures. The bathrooms are complete and have modern showers and new toilets. Without leaving the urbanization you have at your disposal all the necessary services, restaurants, confectioneries, swimming pool, all kinds of water sports, sailing school, supermarkets, hardware store, shops, real estate, etc ... Communication with Francisca was super fast and friendly, she was really helpful. The house was renovated in 2018 and of course, the salty air took its price (e.g. the mirrors have a rusty edge), but it's clean and well-equipped. The kitchen is really nice, it has everything you need. Two rooms out of three have air condition, which was very helpful in September. An absolute plus is the terrace and view, the Mar Menor right in front of the terrace, and the very shallow water are great for kids. There are several restaurants, two supermarkets and two bakerys in walking distance. A few negative points that are not Francisca's fault: Due to many algae in the sea there is sometimes a bad smell and a lot of mosquitos around - using mosquito detergent is a good thing in summer ;-) Thank you, Francisca, for your this place. Never found the pool that was open in the complex (there was one but it was closed off with construction fencing, and the other shallow, maybe a wading pool, was empty). Was super quiet due to being late May which was nice! Easy walk to the beach on the Mediterranean side. The beach may look like it's right outside the door but it's not. If you are prone to mosquito bites, you may want to invest in repellent as it was extremely buggy at night, inside and out. We also ended our stay one night early as we were woken at 03:30 to cockroaches (yes more than 1!!) climbing the walls, under the bed and in the bathroom). We caught one, videoed the others for the owner. It's now been a nightmare dealing with the owner on this. ##### Leah D. Man kann zwar nicht vor dem Objekt parken, wir haben aber zum Ein- und Ausladen davor halten koennen...Die Promenádě gibt das auch fuer einen schweren SUV her und der Verwalter hatte, der stehts im Gelaende ist, hat nichts dagegen. El apartamento está situado en la mejor zona de La Manga, enl Pedruchillo. Cualquier comida tiene magnificas vistas al mar. Buen enclave, tranquilo y muy cerca cualquier tienda que necesites. La zona del Mar menor donde está, tiene un playa que huele muy mal . La casa está al lado de un Restaurante muy concurrido, y donde hay al anochecer cucarachas en el paseo del restaurante hasta la casa. Se nos metió una cucaracha enorme en una habitación que tuvimos que inutilizar. Mi hija se despertó con hormigas grandes andando por su cara en la cama. Así que nos tuvimos que ir al 2º día, y no quisieron devolvernos el dinero. ##### Jone C. The owner was fantastic and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped. Plenty of room, comfortable beds and a great patio space.
