This is one of the smaller motels on a strip dedicated to motels in San Francisco close to the sea, with an especially beautiful marina and Chrissy Fields close by. Also Chestnut street (a block down) has more local foot traffic with shopping and basic services available, and then a LOT of restaurants and bars. If you are taking the bus around San Francisco you’ll want to be close to Van Ness street and this motel is one of the closest, which can save you a 20 minute walk or more.
I like that this motel is small, the owner who is a friendly and personable host will be looking over the parking lot at all times. I’ve seen him checking things out even when I walk to the vending machine. (Btw that’s huge because smashing car windows is the biggest crime in San Francisco) (oh and about the vending machine, drinks are. Dollar where every other motels are 2, I’ve even seen on place charges 4 dollars.
So I love this place and will continue to return, it’s a simple motel that is clean and looked after, zero crime going on funny business etc.
