People who worked there were really nice but please don’t believe the pictures you see . The property is surrounded by homeless people the whole area is pretty scary to be around . Rooms are quite old and are reflected in details that show they’ve worn off and cover the basics, it’s clean and a good option if you want to be close to downtown for a cheaper option just keep in mind you get what you pay for or maybe a bit less. The bathroom amenities are a nice addition and clean as well and have a tub and hair dryer, also air conditioned. The bed is a bit squeaky and keep in mind it can get very noisy at night due to upstairs neighbors or the street. There are some homeless people outside but they’re harmless, we walked at 4 am after a concert on the street and it was perfectly fine.

I read previous reviews about the location & noise. Very correct! Neighborhood dirty with trash thrown about, heavy traffic with exhaust fumes and many homeless smoking their herbs or whatever. Noise level was off the charts. Many suspicious looking people would stare at me when I'd look out the window (which had no screens). Hotel sits on a street with traffic (and contributing noise) going on all around. How many sirens can there be? Did not feel safe to walk out after dark.

Property was very clean though shabby/aged. It is walkable to Balboa Park and Gaslight area. Close to City College tram station. Not many dining/eating places around but a McD's (in an emergency) about 500m up the road. There was a microwave but no plates or cutlery. Staff friendly.
