"I absolutely loved my stay in San Clemente. It’s such a charming, old-school boutique surf hotel in an incredible location—quiet, relaxed, and perfectly situated for anyone who wants to actually experience the San Clemente surf lifestyle. Everything about the property feels designed for beach days. You can borrow surfboards, there’s an outdoor old-school shower where you can rinse off after surfing, and even the beautiful hardwood floors somehow feel perfect when you inevitably come back a little sandy. It has so much more character than a typical hotel. But what really made the experience exceptional was the owner, Dave. He is incredibly cool, laid-back, kind, and accommodating. He called me ahead of time with my room number, explained exactly when and how to check in, and made the entire process effortless. There was even a small issue where Expedia hadn’t provided the security code from my credit card, and Dave handled it so seamlessly and graciously that it never felt like an inconvenience at all. The whole experience felt personal, easy, welcoming, and authentically San Clemente. I loved it there and will absolutely stay again. If you want a quiet little surf escape with character, an amazing location, and genuinely wonderful hospitality, this is it."

"Location was ideal, house was great size for what we needed. The AC did not blow cool air so the house was very warm. There was som black mold in one of the showers. We tried communicating with the host and never heard back regarding the AC and we tried asking for a late checkout but didn’t hear back until after the checkout time."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Garden Cottage for our Honeymoon/ 1 year anniversary. Immediately walking in we were charmed by the tall hedges and private back yard, as well as the seperate guest house. Everything is very clean and comfortable. Our host Aneta was so attentive and offered help getting us fresh towels and toiletries. The kitchenette is adorable with a full fridge and plenty of counter space. Its also within walking distance of the beach and other restaurants which was nice. We had take out often but we definitely could have cooked there if we wanted to. We travel with our dog so we really appreciated a place that was so lovely and pet friendly with a park near by for walks and shade. We would stay here again."
