This property was very clean with decent size rooms. The distance to the Riverwalk and shopping was nice. Extremely quiet rooms from the outside noises. Breakfast had good options. For the price it was well worth it for the location.

Stayed for a week. The room was comfortable and cleaned regularly. The staff were friendly and fun to talk to, and the location was perfect for walking downtown. Pool area was clean. The stationary bike and the treadmill in the gym were both broken.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Room was a bit drab and rundown and the phone in the room wasn't working. The alarm clock wasn't set at the proper time. There was no phone in the hallway. I feel there should always be a phone in the hallway to reach the front desk in case of emergencies. My key wasn't working and I had to go down to the front desk because I couldn't call because there was no phone in the hallway. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Overall a pretty good experience.

Easy 1/2 mile walk to Alamo & surrounding area. Staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast was meh. Limited parking onsite...when full parking available in lot around the corner. Building is the former home of Bexar County Jail...listed on National Historic Register.

The first two ladies that I came in contact with at the front desk were very very rude. Frank was the only employee that I encountered this stay that was so welcoming and friendly. He was very helpful and cared about our stay.

Breakfast is very good and staff exceptionally well. Walking distance to Riverwalk (about 12 min). Parking is limited at the hotel but there are lots of parking areas nearby. Highly recommended.

Im not sure why they don’t advertise that this hotel used to be the Bexar County jail. It was the last stop on our San Antonio Ghost tour and was listed on ever ghost/haunting book we found. Besides that, staff was super nice, breakfast was delicious, and everything was very clean.

This could be a nice hotel if they did some repairs. Some of the staff were wonderful going above what was required. However the some of the reception staff was rude. We were put on the 5th floor and the elevator only worked part of the time. When we checked in, the first room we were given had not been cleaned. The next room we were assigned had an air conditioner that would not turn off or down so the room was freezing.

Parking area had only one entry/exit; got to the end of the SIX parking spots & had to reverse out (no turnaround rm). Had to park around the corner, unsure of my cars safety. Very limited lobby store; no meds. Elevator was labeled as "sick" and for guests to make sure door closes. 4th floor ice machine wasn't working. Rm 401 is surprisingly roomy. Shower head was covered in grit & grim causing extremely slow flow and there was a dirty (still wet) washcloth in the tub.

This was the worst Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in.How can the standard of service be so extreme fromone IzHzG hotel to the next. From the freezing room yobeing moved to another to keys not working to the elevator being out two of the four day stay (we had two disabled family members) to our room being cleaned only 2 of the four day stay bo jsndicap parking. With sooo many service failures,he hotel staff had no empathy.

It's an old registered landmark and very interesting history. What i didn't like, was that theres only one elevator and half the time we were there it was broken and we were on the 5th floor
